I can't see any mention on the Nectar website of members getting to the VTEC seat sale a dale early

Edit: Ignore just found it.
Would have preferred being able to access from tomorrow but I have a feeling Hull travellers will be let down once again anyway.

They are now. It's a bit rubbish, there's hardly any availability (to London, at least).

Shockingly poor availability on the VTEC sale. I know what I want to say and it is not 'yeah baby'. No tickets to non-core route or non-London journeys. What on earth is the sense in not including non-London journeys when EC did for all those years?

I found Newcastle-Edinburgh for £8.50 one way but the timings were terrible and not suitable for a day trip - only return was 2100 train.

Same with Newcastle-London. On many days earliest out train was 1000 and return not till 2000. Very poor sale.

Does the introduction of a 24-week booking horizon have an impact on how many seats they can include in this sale? It means that seats are selling much earlier than they used to and there is less availability over the kind of horizon that this offer is for.

This is fairly typical Stagecoahcy fare, to make a lot of fuss about a sale that gives a very small discount but make you think it's really great, when actually all they were out to do is flog seats on mid-morning and late-evening trains in the autumn that otherwise wouldn't be very busy. Not really a 'sale' at all. Seen those revenue projections? They'll have to do a bit better than this :p

I've managed to book days out from Doncaster to Newcastle and Peterborough for £10 & £6 each way respectively. Yes, it's not as good as previous sales but limited time special offers such as this one should be seen as a bonus rather than an entitlement!

I agree, very poor availability for a "sale" I for one am not surprised at it as once the takeover was confirmed the days of fantastic sales and cheap availability on trains would soon be gone.

Rather unusually for such an offer there is some availability of these Advance Promo £10 fares on very busy evening services from Paddington. I've managed to bag one to Bristol on the 1900 on a Friday! There's even availability on the infamous 1915 to South Wales for customers to Swindon and Bristol Parkway. I bet that'll go down well with the folk across the Severn.

Are you sure they were actually sale tickets? I found none for non-London journeys, but the link did list all of the normal prices as well.

includes validity on some other operators too, eg, London (Euston) to Derby £5.05 advance single with railcard/ £7.65 without (loads of availibilty!).
Valid LM and XC trains. a bargain compared to some of the ridiculous fares on the MML and can be done in 1hr 54 with a good connection at Tamworth.:D

The sale tickets had a different price button (the ones above the train list) to other Advance tickets. For York to Peterborough, the sale prices were £9 standard and £25 first. For a date I was interested in, £9 standard class tickets were not available on any trains, but £25 first class tickets were available for a number of services.

Has anyone else had problems with this offer?

I've tried accessing it (for journeys from Euston to Telford) and, as far as I can see, all of the fairs being offered to me are undiscounted (ie they seem to be at the same level as fares showing for dates after the validity period).

I'm getting 15% discounted Advances for LIV-EUS on the 12th, with railcard discount also applied. OPS/OPR/SVS/SVR fares only allowing rc discount though.

Yup..

Having gone back again it now seems to be applying the 15% (but no railcard) discount to Advance fares - IT glitch? - but Super Offpeak fares are not included, severely limiting the utility to me, oh well....
