Hi everyone,

I apologise if this has already been asked. :D

I recently started as a trainee driver with GTR.

Anyone know how long it takes for spouse/partner travel passes to arrive?

I was told it would take longer than mine. I received my staff travel pass (but nothing else) almost two weeks ago.

Still nothing for my partner - this is the same for all the other guys in my group.

Thanks in advance. :D

Hello mate. I'm a GTR driver too. I reckon you'll be waiting a couple more weeks yet,as RSTL have just rolled out existing staff's travel cards etc. Shouldn't be more than that

Please bear in mind that your partner wont be able to use her pass for commuting to work, it is only to be used for leisure. If she is caught misusing it you can all lose your passes!

Is this for all TfL, and is it for existing staff as well as new starters?

Where does TfL come into it? The OP said they work for GTR.

Off topic, but FWIW, TfL staff Nominee passes CAN be used for free travel for commuting to work, but those issued by the Tocs/Rail Staff Travel, cannot.

There are no designated "commuter" or "leisure" hours. The user will (hopefully) know whether they are travelling to work or not! But I accept there may be a few grey areas, if say, going out after work.

Ahh nice one. Cheers for that mate. It's not actually such a big deal but it's just that in the letter I got with mine it states that partner/spouse pass should be enclosed so I was just wondering if there was some sort of error.

This wouln't be a problem because my partner can't use any GTR services to get to work - she has to use SWT - so it would be purely for leisure.

Wouldn't risk losing mine anyway! :p

And when she received her TOCNE card entitling her to 75% off the public rate for walk-up fares, it also is for Leisure use only, so she can't buy 'Priv rate' tickets for commuting to work on SWT.
