National Rail Enquiries says you need more than one ticket for this, so unlikely.

Might be worth checking out fares from Gilberdyke, though.

Might be worth checking out fares from Gilberdyke, though.

Gilberdyke is a routeing point and the only permitted routes between there and Leeds are shown on map HL which only offers routes via Selby.

Howden is associated with Selby or Gilberdyke and Selby to Leeds routes are also shown on map HL so via Snaith is not an option on that ticket.

Bizarre. Saltmarshe to Leeds is either £82.90 via Brough or £68.60 any permitted.

Can some kind person confirm what is included here?

Howden to Leeds weekly is £40.00. Can someone advise whether this ticket is valid via Castleford (or whether only just on the one direct train a week)?

As far as I can tell, "via Brough" just allows you to double back between Gilberdyke and Brough.

As for tickets, Finfanero may like to consider an Eastrington-Woodlesford ticket at £36.70/week.

The shortest route is via Goole and Knottingley.
There is a mapped route Eastrington-Selby-Micklefield-Woodlesford, which covers the route via Leeds.

NRE* don't show the first route as valid on one ticket, but that may be because it only offers day tickets, but it doesn't think you can complete the journey in a day.
It does show the second.

That's going to be costly.

Without checking, Poppleton-Hull (Any Permitted) should cover the Harrogate Line, York-Doncaster, York-Leeds, Leeds-Hull, Doncaster-Hull. I'm not sure if it would cover Leeds-Doncaster though; you'd need to check out the Routeing Guide.

That Poppleton to Hull fare is interesting, thanks.

York to Hull has no mapped routes via Leeds, so isn't valid via Leeds. Yet Poppleton to Hull is the same price, and is associated with Leeds, and is a higher fare than Leeds so would therefore be valid that way. I must remember that as there are quite a few people who fall foul of there being no permitted routes via Leeds for the Hull to York journey.

Permitted routes for Leeds to Goole, someone please?
It's valid via Howden and Selby on map HL, via Doncaster and Wakefield on DO, and via Knottingley and Castleford using the shortest route. Goole-Leeds is £68.60 for a week ticket, though.

It all depends on where Finfanero wishes to go, and how much he or she is willing to pay for it.

I suspect that is because it used to be valid, and they aren't aware of the change to the routeing guide. Which I wasn't until today, so thanks very much for pointing it out, much better than finding out from you the hard way.

But is not valid to double back via Brough, so you would have to change at Gilberdyke, which does limit the journey options somewhat.
Any ticket is going to limit your journey options, though. Even an all line rover does that.

Goole-Leeds season tickets come in "any Permitted" and "via Brough" routes, the latter being more expensive.
