i emailed Ronke yesterday and the response was that Claire is extremely busy placing candidates on courses. So its just a waiting game. But i think youve gotta take the positive that you've got the job and just gotta hang out till it we get start dates.

I'm waiting for Bedford still haven't heard anything so I'm guessing July is probably a non starter. I rang Claire who rang me back but I missed the call

By the sounds of it a lot of the people still waiting are wanting Bedford / Hitchin so it's a waiting game. Means I get to go abroad with tbd wife and kids this year so I'm not grumbling. Return from hols and not long until I start with GTR

if you hear anything let us know and I will do the same

I logged on to my GTR Careers account and under ''Withdrawn Applications'' I find my trainee train driver application for which I passed the interview and am now awaiting my medical? Should I call them to confirm or am I worrying for nothing? By the way anyone apply for Blackfriars?

I'm waiting for a start date! Had my medical yesterday and was deemed as being 'fit for the role'. Waiting for my urine results but I don't do drugs so should be fine! My depots of choice are P'borough, Cambridge, Hitchin and lastly Kings Cross. I have no idea how long I'll have to wait but hoping it's not too long.

I am not sure if it's too late for the July 6th start.

I was told my start date on the 30th of April, 3 days after I passed the DM interview.

I don't imagine I will be starting until at least September, I'll just have to hang in there. Only had my medical on Tuesday. DMI was on 2nd June.

September is just round the corner anyway. You will be there before you know it. It's worth the wait :D

I believe that although South Eastern is also Govia they pay differently.

Govia run all companies separately so don't believe that southeastern terms etc will transfer to GTR.

GN/TL trainees are on half drivers salary until productive when try jump straight into full pay. Pay deal just gone through sees GN/TL qualifier drivers now on 48600ish rising to 51001 next year so trainees are on half that.

Even southern don't pay the same as GN/TL and never will as the company don't want to harmonise the 2 companies so ex southern / gat x and ex FCC, although the same company from next month, will still pay differently and be on different T&Cs.

I got my email through and booked my assessment day on the 8th :D I applied back in April. Extremely nervous - and extremely excited - as this is something that I have wanted to do for a few years now, but originally wasn't old enough when I first decided (22 now). I have a pretty strong background in the bus industry so hopefully that works in my favour, provided I get make the grade on the assessments! I'm going to have a more thorough read of the fora here now, but as well as what they attached in the email, are there any other useful resources?!

As I said, excited doesn't come close!

Had an email today saying I have passed the medical and that I'm officially in the talent pool for allocation. It seems that they have obviously filled all the current courses for he timebeing, I just hope I don't have to wait too long. The positive is that if people are still going through the stage 1 / 2 assessments then there's obviously a load more vacancies in the pipeline.

I've heard of people being in the talent pool for months, even years. Hopefully due to the recruitment drive we will be in within a few months. Fingers crossed guys, I really want to get started!
