Any news on when the livery of the new Carlisle solos will be revealed

Does stagecoach have people that go to depots to apply vinyls

Also when will they enter service?

Today, into squadron service Monday, one or two are sneaking out on Saturday.

Looks quite good.

Yes, but to the casual observer, it doesn't exact shout out "Stagecoach" does it? Variations on the corporate theme like the Lakes Link stuff, or these South Western Trains-type livery, i can understand as you've no dubt who operated it, but this.... There's the beach ball at the back, but you could take that fr part of the branding.
I can imaging that causing some disagreement, but remember this is a thread about Stagecoach buses, so we can take it as read that we recognise one.... The old Merc minibuses rarely if ever carried a fleetname, but were instantly recognisable becasue of the livery.

Perhaps it's an attempt to get away from the corporate identity, and dissociate from the 'main' group?

ISTR that Reay's "local alternative" advertising went down quite well, though they're services overall were a failure. They did a pretty decent job at making Stagecoach out to be the big, nasty, corporate party as well. (Whether you agree with that or not is up to you!!)

28 Solos in = 28 E200s out.

Although the branding on the side has "Carlisle from Stagecoach" on it, and a beachball on the sides and front, I have to admit, the Beachballs aren't very clear. One notable thing, the Carlisle appears to be in a similar, if not identical font to that used for reays in its fleetname.

The inner recesses of my tortured mind.
Seen today on the North West Bus Blog's Facebook page is a report that SM&SL's garage at Eaves Lane, Chorley is to close with most operations to move to Preston. An outstation will be maintained in Chorley to serve the 125. It's not clear what will happen to the town routes. The report says that the reason for the closure is that the amount it would cost to bring the depot up to standard. Having worked there, I can appreciate that as it is in dire need of modernisation. It's a shame, though - especially for my former work colleagues and friends.

It didn't take long for complaints about the Solos to make the news in Carlisle.

I shall be trying the new Solos out for the first time today. I am trying to keep an open mind but my experience of 47921 is making that difficult.

Complaints are totally justified

Totally stupid idea to put solos on busy times

Plus the solos are like going back in time rattles bangs and jerks ...god knows what they will be like with a bit of age

Did I not say that, a couple of months ago.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Don't make me laugh.

I have worked in the Bus Industry for 23-years, in my experience a reduction in the number of seats available, actually dis-encourage people from using the buses....

Will the management now admit that they got it wrong yet again.
