London Midland 323s

Why does LM have so many 323s out of service at the minute? They tweet about train faults causing shortened trains but don't say what the problem is. Anyone know the reason?

7 units were stopped as of yesterday, no real pattern as to what faults, just seem to be going through a poor spell of reliability. Brakes, doors, traction motors, wheelsets have all featured in the last few days.

Ah, that would explain why there didn't seem to be any coupled sets at New Street today!

Whilst on the subject of LM 323s, has anyone noticed that many of them have window glass which is sub standard with a ripple effect which gives a distorted view of the world outside?

Could that be caused by the anti-eching protection that is fitted to the windows of lots of commuter/local emus & dmus these days?
