Not much else happening at this time of the evening. We take a nap outside the station, some well meaning passers by dropping some pennies into our laps. We don't get much sleep, and are awake in time for the first train of the day, Greater Anglia's 1K01, the 04:00 service from Southend Victoria to London. We take the service as far as Stratford, where we alight at 04:57 on Thursday Morning.

 Spent too much time fighting with autocorrect over Martello!

We have a bit of a wait until we get on the First Essex number 4 service, which arrives at 08:48, bound for Harwich. We take it as far as Great Oakley, School Road opp. Hanford Drive , where we alight at 09:14 on Thursday morning.

That was exactly the problem, Paul

We find that none of the the other services are running, so we decide to go for a pint. Sadly, we're too early. So we wait for the next bus, the First Essex 103 service towards Colchester, which pulls up op time at 10:26. We complete our journey to Colchester Stanwell Street, arriving at 10:45 on Thursday morning.

We're bored of busways now, so we exit the bus station and make the 0.4 mile walk to the train station. We arrive to see a Dusty Bin sat on Platform 2, forming 2P57 on the 1841 departure from Huntingdon.

We arrive into London King's Cross at 1956 on Thursday evening.

Hull seems to have shut down at this time of night with no train or bus services I can find,so we book into a local hotel and return to the Transport Interchange in time to catch the 0620 East Yorkshire service 350 and cross the Humber Bridge before alighting at Barton on Humber Railway Station where we arrive at 0652 on Friday morning.

Hull and the Humber haven't fully woken up yet, so we wait for 40 minutes and catch the first bus we see. It just so happens that this particular bus is the 0737 Humber Flyer to -you guessed it- Humberside Airport. It arrives outside the terminal at 0807 Friday morning.

I know the rules - don't walk over half a mile, don't use flights... after seeing the inspector in Paris, I'm never going there again!

We spend some time planespotting before we catch the 08:50 Humber Flyer service back towards Hull, alighting at Barton Interchange at 09:20 on Friday morning.

Note I've changed the time - I got it wrong the first time
