MTL was purchased by Arriva in April 2000. One of the original bidders for Gillmoss was Go Ahead. Stagecoach did bid after being left at altar basically by MTL as they thought a gentleman's agreement was in place to purchase it. In the event Arriva sold to a team of ex MTL management who set up GTL.

Ferrymill Motors Wright Meridian MAN FM33 has moved up to Preston, its new regular route is the 3 to Penwortham.

The older Solos at Preston are receiving the revised Stagecoach livery with out the Blue and Orange front swoops, 47008 & 47713 have both been done.

Are Versas getting it too? Morecambe's trio were repainted a while back but they still have a blue destination box (which actually looks better)

Edit: What I mean is, as the solo livery is usually quoted as being based-on-versas (which never had the front swirls) I was surprised when they retained the blue route box when Solos never got it.

I don't know what the Versas are like now, haven't seen them since they all moved off to Merseyside last year.

Ex Stagecoach London 17491 LX51FML is in at Preston (from Chester), spotted working to Southport the other day on route 2.

What's the policy with fleetnames at Morecambe these days?

Kendal seemed to get all of their stuff labelled "Kendal and South Lakes" (I think, not seen anything of theirs for a while) fairy quickly but most of Morecambe's stuff seems to still be just "Lancaster". In fact, on 17020, the "Lancaster and Morecambe" bit looks to have been peeled off.

New company policy, most depots have removed the "in whereever" legals has it saves money changing from "in Lancaster and Morecambe" to "in Manchester".

Ah, right. I can see the point in not changing them or replacing them (Can;t see a passenger saying "Hang on, this one says Cumbria not Lancaster, I'm not getting on that!"), but activity removing them unless transferred seems a bit daft.

Queens Visit to Lancaster 29th May

On Friday 29th May Her Majesty The Queen will visit Lancaster and due to this a number of our services will be affected by road closures and diversions.

From 20.00 on Thursday 28th until 16.00 on Friday 29th May no buses will be able to call at Common Garden Street as the pavements in this area will be closed in preparation for the Queen's procession through the City Centre.

Between these hours all southbound services 2, 2A, 3, 3A, 4 & X4 towards Lancaster University, 10 to the Ridge, 40 & 41 towards Preston and service 42 towards Blackpool will operate from Dalton Square.

From 06.00 until 16.00 on Friday 29th May Meeting House Lane, Station Road and Lancaster Rail Station will be closed to all traffic.

Services 3A & X4 to and from Lancaster Rail Station will divert via St George's Quay to access the area. Customers for the University should catch the 3A and X4 services from the bus stop outside Lancaster Football Club opposite your usual stop.

These buses will then operate via Fairfield Road, Westbourne Road and Willow Lane to rejoin the usual route along Lune Road and St George's Quay towards the University.

Service 7 for the Marsh Estate will also be diverted along St George's Quay but will then serve the Lancaster Football Club opposite Westfield Village Before serving Fairfield Road then usual route around Abraham Heights and Willow Lane.

The bus will then head to the City Centre along Lune Road and St George's Quay to Lancaster bus station.

We expect delays to these services due to the extra time and mileage required by the diversions and would advise customers to allow extra time for your journeys.

Various changes to the Carlisle City network starting Monday 18th May - https://www.stagecoachbus.com/uploads/carlislenetworkchangeflyerweb.pdf.

Route most affected is the 67/68 Belle Vue (loop) - City Centre - Upperby (loop) with a combined frequency of every 7/8 minutes (where the 67 and 68 alternate and traverse the terminal loops in different directions) to service 67 only every 10 minutes. Thus 8 buses per hour becomes 6 buses per hour.

Yep and it has now gone from being a great service to total rubbish

I now have to leave 10 mins earlier in morning for work and now takes an hour to get home on a night (25 mins extra)

They advertise that they run every 10 min this is rubbish as I have waited 20 mins on 3 occasions!!!

Sounds like services 2/2A in Lancaster, they too are advertised as running every 10 mins, yet on Wednesday 27th, my wife and myself waited 35 mins for a bus, then two turn-up together.

Unscientific but regular observation from my workplace on Botchergate suggests that the 67s usually hunt in pairs. One of my colleagues also curses the new arrangement as it has let her down several times already.

Speaking of observations from my workplace, on Thursday I twice saw an Optare Solo, YJ15AET in all over blue (perhaps - my colour vision is imperfect) and it appeared to have Stagecoach legals. Any ideas

Went past the Carlisle depot on Friday afternoon (29th) and there appeared to be 2 dark coloured solos inside - so as one has been seen out around Carlisle I assume that means at least of the new Solos have been delivered.

Very little; Solos go in, E200s go out to other regions.
Nothing in it for the rest of C&NL (that said there may be some more 05 plate darts moving around).

When east Scotland receives the new E300s for Dunfermline depot for route 19, which should be in August, the existing MAN E300s are being moved elsewhere. What you may have in fact heard is some of the Fife examples being moved to Morecambe.

LL MANs are not connected to the Solos/E200s in any way.

Hi
Heard a rumour but that's all it is a rumour that only thirteen of the 200's are being retained at Carlisle the rest are being transfered within the group with a number going to Yorkshire
Regards
Ernie
