Breaking News: Rail delays after crash

Rail passengers were this morning warned to expect severe disruptions.
There were major delays on all train services travelling out of Hull after a train crashed into a van last night.
The incident happened near Lowfield Lane, at Melton, shortly after midnight.
It is thought the van had been abandoned on the track.
The train was not derailed and just one passenger needed hospital treatment for minor injuries.

Could it be the 2226 Sheffield to Hull? Registered departing Brough at 2348 but didn't register at Hessle Road or as arriving at Hull.

Lucky no one was killed, will be interesting to see how this pans out...

The poor 158s seem to be having a good time recently. On hit a bridge the other day didn't it? Poor driver had to be cut free if I remember right.

Whoever left the van on the track needs to be locked up...

And as soon as the line reopens, some points decide to fail at Selby ;)

Talking of trains vs. vehicles on crossings, there was one on Saturday involving a car being driven by a Network Rail employee between Inverness and Muir of Ord, resulting in the bustitution of services between Inverness and Dingwall. The working involved was 2H63, 10:39 INV-WCK.

Judging from this picture, it was also a 158.
