I am sure that you are aware that I studied Mathematics at Manchester University from 1962-1966, where I achieved a First in Mathematics. Noting what you say, I have plotted an overlay of the last six stations to see which circular form would be shown by those mentioned below:-
Luton
Three Bridges
Angmering
Southampton Central
Upwey
Stapleton Road.....and who was it decided to head there from Upwey?

All I can say is that the mathematical description of a circle must have changed somewhat in the interim time period, as your posting uses the world "circles" which signify that more than one such circle has been made in the aforesaid sequence.....

When I say going around in circles, I mean doubling back on ourselves. We seem to have gone from Sutton to Luton, then back down to Three Bridges, then back up to Clapham Junction, then back down to Angmering.

I don't really care but I was just merely stating I do wonder what the obsession with the south coast was, as we've double backed as opposed to circled if that's what you prefer.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I'm saying no more on the matter. I have bigger and better things to do.

We remain at Stapleton Road at 0815 on Tuesday.

Glad to oblige. We decide to make a short rail journey next to a major railway station that offers a wide range of onward destinations, so we next board the 0826 FGW service to Bristol Temple Meads that arrives there at 0832 on Tuesday morning.
