I saw a Citylink Gold bus on the A92 going towards Glenrothes from the South on Monday (9th) at around 1100, anyone have any ideas why it was there? Not sure if it was in service or not as I was on an Edinburgh-bound service on the other carriageway.

A white solo reg: MX08 DHK, is currently at the Glenrothes depot. No idea why.
Since the service changes in February, two of the "Tri-Axle" used on the X59 are now being used on the X54. You would think with the extra Tri-Axle sent to Glenrothes the X59 would still be fully covered. B7 coach is used on the busy 15.25 from Edinburgh.
Further service changes are due on May day, mainly effecting Dunfermline town services, Edinburgh express's, K4, 7, 8, 18, 23 and 33.
One would assume, the Edinburgh changes would just be timing issues or extra journey etc since it only been 5 weeks since the changes. The rest I would say minor cuts should be expected.

The white Solo is on loan from Optare whilst the SRs are away for remedial work under warranty. It has been at St.Andrews for a couple of months, whilst their SRs were away being done.
The X54 and X59 services are interworked so the tri-axles appear on both routes.

It's display doesn't appear to work, it's been going about with an A4 sheet with G6 printed on all day.
Pretty much everything out of Edinburgh between 3 and 6.30 can be busy, which covers almost all the X54/X59 diagrams so it doesn't make much difference either way. I had an E300 on the X59 a few weeks ago.
Mobitech display IIRC rather than the Stagecoach standard Hanover, so will require East Scotland to specifically find the software to program it...

They must have the Mobitech software as when Perth had FM34 (MAN Meridian) that had a Mobitech in it and they were able to program it for the 23 and 301 P&R

Its very unclear if First or Prentice westwood have managed to retain anything. Its possible It could end with Stagecoach losing in some parts but winning in others, but who knows.

I believe that 3 East Scotland Enviro 400s going on their holidays soon; off to Sheffield for Supertram replacement work. I also believe that these 3 won't return.
They will be temporarily covered by 1 E400 from West and 1 E400 from North Scotland until the Hybrids arrive.
Unfortunately fleet numbers weren't quoted to me.

Are you sure it was 15945? That's a Western Scania E400 and has just recently been transferred from Ardossan to Blochairn for use on the X25/A and has even been route branded for it...

Doesn't seem logical to me, why would they move just one Scania E400 from Blochairn when they got 15944/945/946 from Ardrossan??
And 15945 was on the X25 only a couple of days ago, are you possibly mistaking it for 19545 from Fife?

As has already been reported on here, 15945 is currently at Strathtay to cover for the Tayway 73 buses away. It is moving back to Glasgow when 15631 has completed its MoT

The logic is that if the Tayway E400s go down, they won't come back as we are due Hybrids (next month?). If the buses were from anywhere else, they'd need to be returned therefore double the mileage is consumed.

The service changes in May will result in a minor reductions in buses being used. At the same time the number of services being interlinked with school work, will see a minor increase.

for certain Fife / Strathtay services Stagecoach East Scotland would like to advise passengers of a number of bus service changes effective from Monday 4 May 2015. Please note that Monday 4 May is the May Day public holiday and Fife services will operate to the Saturday timetables shown within the new timetables. Perth and Strathtay services will operate normally.
Fife area
Service 1: Dunfermline – Duloch Park – Rosyth – Ferrytoll P&R
Unfortunately the increased level of service introduced last August has not generated the number of passengers that we had hoped for and as a result, this service will be revised to operate hourly during the daytime, with some additional journeys at peak commuting times. The route within Inverkeithing will be revised to operate via Hill Street, Dunfermline Wynd and Castlandhill Road to and from Ferrytoll, instead of via Hope Street. There will be no change to the evening and Sunday service 1A.
Service 2/2A: Halbeath P&R – Duloch Park – Rosyth – Ferrytoll P&R
Due to very low passenger numbers the daytime service 2A journeys via Sandpiper Drive will be withdrawn, with journeys retained around peak commuting and Amazon shift times. Revised service 3 will provide alternative facilities between Sandpiper Drive and Halbeath Park & Ride. Service 2 via Greenshank Drive will continue to operate hourly.
Service 3/3A: Townhill – Dunfermline – Abbeyview – Duloch Park – Halbeath P&R
The timetable of this service will be revised to incorporate an hourly extension to Halbeath Park & Ride via Sandpiper Drive and Fife Leisure Park, providing new direct links between Townhill, Abbeyview and these areas. The evening and Sunday journeys currently running as service 3A will be renumbered to service 3. Certain journeys will operate via Fife College, numbered service 3A.
Service 7B/7C: Kirkcaldy – East Wemyss – Leven
On schooldays only the 0807 Kirkcaldy to Leven service 7B journey will commence from Muiredge, Station Road at 0833.
Service 8: Dunfermline – High Valleyfield – Kincardine – Alloa – Stirling
Unfortunately the increased level of service introduced last August has not generated the number of passengers that we had hoped for and as a result, most Monday to Saturday daytime journeys operating between Dunfermline and High Valleyfield only will be withdrawn. The service will continue to operate hourly to and from Stirling. High Valleyfield will be served by three buses per hour to and from Dunfermline using a combined frequency of services 8 and 9.
Service 11: Izatt Avenue – Dunfermline – Queen Margaret Hospital circular
The 0742 journey from Izatt Avenue will be withdrawn.
Service 18: Kelty – Cowdenbeath – Kirkcaldy

The 1740 and 1940 Stirling to Kinross & St Andrews journeys will be retimed between Kinross and St Andrews to improve reliability.
Service 33: Kirkcaldy – Lochgelly – Cowdenbeath – QM Hospital – Dunfermline
The 0901 Cowdenbeath bus depot to Dunfermline journey (0755 connecting journey from Kirkcaldy) will be revised to depart at 0852 and run 9 minutes earlier between Cowdenbeath and Dunfermline.
Service 40/40A: Edinburgh – Barnton – Queensferry
A revised timetable will be introduced incorporating minor changes around peak times and most Monday to Saturday daytime journeys running 5 minutes later than at present. There will be no change to the Sunday timetable.
Service 51: Dunfermline – Kirkliston – Livingston
The frequency of this weekend shoppers’ service will be improved to operate hourly, from the current two-hourly, in response to growing passenger numbers.
Service 55/X55: Dunfermline – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh
There will be some minor retimings to this service between 1500 and 1800 on weekdays. The 1650 X55 journey from Bristo Square will be retimed between West End, Queensferry Street and Dunfermline. The 1710 X55 journey from Bristo Square will be withdrawn, with revised service X61 providing an alternative between Bristo Square and Ferrytoll.
That really should say 17.20, instead of 17.10
Service 55A: Dunfermline – Ferrytoll P&R – South Queensferry
The Monday to Saturday timetable between Dunfermline and South Queensferry will be revised. There will be no change to the Sunday timetable or the South Queensferry – Dunfermline journeys.

The 1452 St Andrews to Ladybank & Newburgh journey will be revised to extend to Abernethy. The E200MMCs mentioned will be 11.9m, as the 26xxx fleetnumbers rather give away
I don't have a scooby about fleet numbers
