Any FA Trophy specials 29 March?

Hi,

Wrexham is in the FA Trophy final at the end of the month. Is there a special planned as was the case a couple of years ago?

I have checked RTT and Arriva's website but I can't find anything.

Might not need to be, as the last one was their first trip to Wembley, which would have boosted the attendance.

One thing is certain: there won't be a special from Ferriby

This will be the lowest Wembley FA Trophy attendance so far (if not ever).

I was at the last match when Wrexham beat Grimsby and a few weeks later when they lost in the play-off final against Newport. Both games lacked evidence of the "beautiful game". That said, my photos of the 68's taken at Denham Golf Club made it less painful!

How about a Hull Trains 180 for North Ferribly

Both clubs websites suggest that they're planning coaches to get their supporters to the game.

Whilst HT could, possibly, call at Ferriby for a one off I don't think it would really work as the station doesn't have a car park. So any supporters who don't actually live in North Ferriby (admittedly that isn't likely to be many) would struggle to find somewhere to park their cars. However, for the numbers I suspect we're talking about coaches probably make the most sense, especially as they can pick up from different easily accessible, locations if the clubs identify demand.

Last time ATW were late in putting on a special, this year they have a choice of two loco haul sets.

I don’t think we, Darlington, had a special train when we won the FA Trophy. We did have special trains when we lost in our two play off final visits to the old Wembley.

The journey home after was the most subdued train journey I have ever been on and we got back into Darlo, from Kings Cross at stupid o'clock

I presume the tunnel problem in Chiltern land was another decider for ATW not to run a special,its deferentially all buses from Wrexham,so it would seem.

Glossop North End are just a 2 legged semi final from reaching Wembley in the FA Vase final.
Last time they were there they ran a special train. Fingers crossed this time if we make it.

Any of you chaps know if its going to be shown on S4C,or another free channel,as I have to work on the Sunday,
Ill ask my contact at ATW why they are not bothering with a train and official reason for not running one,too late now as the match is a week Sunday.

Well spotted, tickets for the train will only be sold at Wrexham booking office on production of Wembley entrance pass. It looks very much like its Geralds stock,as Welsh Government are sponsoring the train. ATW website below,ill check if a notice is out at General station.

Wrexham Gen dep 08 15 and arrive Wembley 11 36. Runs via Shrewsbury, Birmingham New st, Birmingham Intl, Leamington, and Banbury & Chiltern route. Returns same roué at either 16 09 (or 17 09 if Extra Time) arriving back at 19 28 (or 20 28) thence ECS to Holyhead.

Assume ATW crew to New St (or International) and Chiltern beyond.

Thanks for the update, ATW in its original statement said 265 seats available in standard,anyone know how mark mark3s this equates to, plus 20 in First.

Perhaps an extra Mark3 carriage of Geralds spare stock was requisitioned due to demand. We will only know tomorrow morning, later having thought about it 265 into three mark 3s comes out at 88.

Appreciate that,just wondered how many passengers will an ATW Gerald stock Mark3 seat. I am presuming 265 tickets sold equates to four standard Mark3s.
