Well the image seems to be taken on a phone and these days, that is an everyday thing now - welcome to 2015! Would you know when someone taken an image of you on a phone? The chances are unlikely.

I wondered what those things were that were in the bits between the vestibules. Seats! Never seen them at St. Albans. I genuinely cannot remember the last time I got on a 319 and there was nobody standing, any day of the week, any time of day.
Doesn't that mean that passengers will at least see some daylight between November and February at those high latitudes?

Not only latitude but altitude. The air is much thinner in Edge Hill than Lime Street after that long incline

It's a completely normal thing as far as I'm aware?
Most people would probably assume it was a selfie, and even if it wasn't it would probably be some sort of snapchat saying "Look how sleepy everyone is" or "Look, a new train" or whatever.
This is the 21st century.

I don't by why take the name of a racehorse?
To be honest, I would be a bit worried if I got on a commuter train and saw everybody smiling. First I'd check my dress, then check whether it was a party booking to the seaside and the seats were reserved.

I'll consider my wrists well and truly slapped by you and the other one! I'd still be wary of someone stood on their own taking pics in a carriage though unless they're trout pouting.

That made me laugh - I once had one of my supervisors tell me that he had spotted me off duty in a department store ....on saying I had not noticed him - he said I would not have , as he was dressed as a woman , shopping with his wife. Off topic I know ....

Next month or two for Manchester Victoria (there is a blockade between 3 to 6 April) at Victoria, and a bit longer for Huyton to Wigan, as work still needs doing at Carr Mill and Springs Branch.

Is that just Monday to Friday?
What about Saturday workings?
Got on the the 08:40 from Manchester Airport at St Helens Junction at 09:22 and was bitterly disappointed to find a 156.
So it looks as though ManVic and the Wigan line could be tested soon after Easter as there does not appear to be too much work still to do.
Will there be enough refurbished 319s to work them by April?
As for the 156 this morning, I understood that the electric workings are Mon-Fri only at the moment, and then only 2 out of 3 diagrams. I'm not sure why, does anyone know? Do they still have to isolate the catenary at weekends to finish off outstanding work? Do they have enough crews trained yet? They do appear to have enough 319s to work all the MIA trips by now.

Makes sense, but not in the fact that the 319's will be confined to Allerton at weekends.
Wigan and Manchester Vic drivers also need to keep route-retention on the Chat Moss, you will probably find that when the Manchester Vic-Liverpool stopping trains hopefully start in May they won't all be 319s, it will take a fortnight to train and pass out every driver on the 319s, Wigan and Man Vic have knocking on for 300 drivers between them - those so far trained can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
The current diagrams (AN231 and AN232) were posted in their entirety (on the 319 thread I think) a couple of weeks ago by myself.

No Saturdays yet but ...
I hope that all MIA trains will be 319s in the May timetable. I was hoping that all MCV trains would be 319s in May too, but due to driver training it seems this may take a bit longer.

There won't be ANY fully refurbished Northern 319s by April this year
A proper refurbish will be in the new franchise when the 319s will get Universal Toilets etc during their next C6 (before 2020)
To date they've just got a good refresh

Looks like they might get aircon too in the full refurb. Porterbrook have an option for aircon, though it requires an upgraded auxiliary power unit (aka hotel power). They'll probably have to do aux power for WiFi anyway, and certainly if they want power sockets. I wonder if bidders will want to go to 2+2 seating.
