Hi, quick question... trying to book tickets from Kings Langley - London Euston (KGL-EUS), leaving on a Friday and returning on a Monday. The journeys are in "peak" (morning out, evening back).

"Open return" tickets don't seem to exist (the only available tickets are Anytime Day Returns), so do I have to buy two singles?

Thanks :)

It looks like you do have to have two singles- Open Returns are probably not available as a fraud prevention measure because fare dodgers use them as season tickets.

Yes, there is no Anytime Returrn for that flow, so 2 x Singles at £10.80 it is.

Thanks for the swift response chaps, we both hold 16-25 Railcards so £11 out and £7.25 return each. Total cost of £36.50. These are just for reference, for anybody else making the same journey in future :)

For the future, you may wish to consider an Off Peak return (break of journey allowed, according to LW) from Apsley to London at £11.60 (railcard discounted) if timings are different. No arrival in London pre-10am and the usual afternoon restrictions apply.

There is an Off-Peak Return from Kings Langley at £10.50 with Railcard discount. It is just no good for the OP in the peak.

... if buying from an S&B machine with the Railcard selected.

Buying from a person common sense will prevail obviously to charge the undiscounted £11 Anytime Day Single.
