The other is still at Truro station, with Fal River legals as of today.

33111 is probably PJ02 PZP then.

I'm probably getting befuddled...... "Nurse, where's my horlicks...??" ;)

I have recently got my first smartphone but I am not "smart" enough to figure out how to work it. Over a week after getting it and I still don't have much idea what I am doing. Where's the instruction manual?

Oh there isn't one!

I've been in a similar position. You can buy a mag in WH Smith which can help but I've gone back to my Saga-approved basic mobile:lol:
My problem is because none of it comes naturally I quickly forget what the symbols mean and the procedures used etc. Thickphone is what I need.

Seems a lot of older generation are getting more clued up, found my 75 year old grandad has become a computer wiz since my nan passed away- facebook, LinkedIn, Skype. He has found old friends on facebook he hadn't spoke for close to 60 years when he left school, and lost contact before the days of computers and mobiles.

Back on topic D706GHY was out in truro this morning blowing off the cobwebs (and a lot of smoke)

Where are the open top Volvo Citybuses (38000-38006) kept during the winter months?

I had assumed that they would be mothballed somewhere in Cambourne depot.
Does anyone know how many remain; the following were used last year 38000,38001,38004,38005,38006 (in addition to Olympians 34137 and 34626).

Also does anyone know at this stage of the year if service 300 will ever return to its full service e.g. Penzance-Lands End-St Ives-Marazion-Penzance?

The Volvo citybuses are delicenced over the winter and parked up at Truro & Penzance. 38002 is withdrawn after suffering damage but I am unsure what has become of 38003.

Not much space to store vehicles at Camborne with it being the main depot for the whole of Cornwall.

No wonder I could not read the registration plate of the Fal River Trident because it never had any! In any case I managed to identify 33111 as PJ02 PZP. I wonder if it is going to be re-registered?

A few surprises at Camborne with Solo 53505 present and a E400 on the 14, is that a first occasion that one has done this route?

Not seen a E400 on either 14/18. There is theoretically one spare E400, as only 8 are required for the U1/2.

Can't speak for today but yesterday there was a Trident on the U1 and an Olympian on the U2 and today a E400 on the 14. There probably is a logical explanation for it all.

I see that 3 Solo's (53119/22/24) are "parked up" in Norwich surplus to requirements, just wondering if they might end up in Cornwall replacing some of the older W reg one's?

Something I'd never seen before this lunchtime - an only slightly-late 2 being turned at Penryn (Asda) rather than Falmouth. Anyone know why?

Sorry I forgot to answer when I found out. A couple of 2 services a day were scheduled to turn at Asda. Since January timetable it's only the one about 3pm arriving at asda that terminates at asda. The bus then runs empty to Penryn college.
There is also a service that terminates at Mabe.

Thanks for the answer. I hadn't realised that p.m. one was scheduled to finish there. Bit inconvenient for the longer-distance travellers I'd have thought: perhaps there's another bus from Asda into Falmouth around that time to connect into.

Does anybody what fleetnumber it has been allocated ?, As i believe that the two Tridents are now numbered 33111 & 33112.

Dart is shown on post #480 on page 32.

PJ02 PZY one of the former Fal River Trident's was in Camborne earlier carrying FDC legals but no fleet numbers. I have not seen the other one recently so unsure if it has been re-registered or not.

Marshall Dart on the 18C again this afternoon showing a clean pair of heels on the Marazion By-pass. Apart from its uniqueness in First D&C is there anything stopping this one carrying on for a while yet?

I was surprised to see it in Penzance yesterday afternoon on the 18C unfortunately no camera.

It'll not be DDA compliant so gotta go by the year end!

Every available bus is required with the additional routes. Plenty of replacements already identified from within First, but over the course of this year, including a substantial cull of Olympians.

I'll be out with my camera targeting the Olympian's over the coming weeks.

Given the new routes and the sending down of rather mature B6s and B10s from Bristol and Great Yarmouth, I'd assumed it would survive in the sort term but it won't be here this time next year.

I'd anticipated a cull of Olympians. The eldest ones are K/L reg (so 1992/3) but the newer ones are susceptible to chassis corrosion so you'd anticipate that the best of the newer ones might survive but that replacements will be sourced from across the business for many to bite the dust.

Not entirely certain how many non DDA single decks (particularly Darts) that can't be easily rectified are still in service?

What else is there elsewhere (double decker wise) that could be cascaded to Cornwall either sooner or later to replace the Olympian's?

More of the same I suppose but they can't go on forever and there are DDA considerations.

Trident's are not very popular with drivers and some of them are not that much younger, so that just leaves Volvo B7TL's or perhaps some early E400's at some point.

I had thought that some deckers might exit Bristol (ex London Tridents or B7TLs) given the 39 new ones heading there but SW says not. West Yorkshire still has a fair few Olympians but you wonder who might have deckers to spare

Glasgow have quite a few T reg tridents withdrawn but not dispossed of but they have been withdrawn for some time so may not be much use now.

32817 has been repainted in Plymouth

I've got to say, although I've always found the Plaxton bodywork to be rather attractive - Dart SLF & President - The new First livery does rather suit the tridents!

Is this one now going to be a First Plymouth branded President, or will be heading west next?

From reports elsewhere, Leicester may have more double deckers than it needs, DDA-compliant B7TLs. If they were to get Streetlites they could release some deckers.
