Nick Clegg on "The Last Leg" tonight

Did anyone else watch this show tonight? I thought Clegg came across really quite well. Great bravery to allow himself to be torn apart for an hour. It's almost made me want to vote for the Lib Dems in May, until I remember the tuition fees fiasco. And that makes me sad.

That being said, I can't possibly see Cameron or Miliband or Farage or Bennett doing such a thing, so fair play to Nick Clegg.

I'm just watching this now, Fair play to Clegg, compared to a lot of the other Political Leaders he does seem to be more natural and have a good sense of humour. Coming across a little bit more likeable than I thought too, I might have to check out their policies for May onwards (given that no-one else is drawing my attention at the moment!)

Quite liked the Alex Brooker interview too - rather brave bit but rather funny too. And as for the Political Snog Marry Avoid Question -

Nick Clegg did himself a lot of good in that appearance last night. Of course he drew the line at direct comments about his current cabinet colleagues but the inferences were all fairly straight.
I wonder if the b******t button will be available when the TV debate is eventually held. If there are as many there as are being talked about it will look like 'The Weakest Link' .... now there's an idea......

I really liked the off the cuff comments when Josh misheard Adam relaying one of the tweeter's names as Heather Mills.

It was an absolute fiasco, and pretty outrageous (I know, I'm in the first year of university students to have the £9000 fee), but to be fair to him, he has apologised profusely since then (not something I can ever remember David Cameron/Ed Miliband doing), and most of it was the Conservative's doing, not the Lib Dems.

As said, I'm a student with £9000 fees but I'm still inclined to vote for Nick Clegg, he's a good guy.

When the warm up guy asked during the first ad break how many Lib Dem voters there were in the audience about 4 hands went up and there were a few boos when Clegg came on but by the end he had won the audience over and most people were impressed how will he did. He had a long discussion during another ad break with Adam Hills about Australian politics. I was surprised however he didnt know the size of the UK national debt. He certainly looked older than when he appeared in the TV debates for the 2010 election!

We applied for tickets about 4 weeks ago and didnt have any problems getting them - they do overbook and we did wonder if we would get in last night as those who are turned away from previous shows get priority for the next one and we had to wait quite a while while for the priority people to get in - about a quarter of tickets seem to get reserved for the production company's guests as well.

Nick Clegg is very personable- there's a reason why he wiped the floor with Brown and Cameron back in the 2010 debates and he's good on his LBC phone-in too. I can't imagine Cameron going on the radio every week and justifying himself to the general public- look at what happened when someone accidentally bumped into him in Leeds. He looked as though he'd catch something fatal because a pleb went near him.

I genuinely do not understand how and why the Lib Dems have allowed themselves to become the fall guy for the Conservatives' psychopathy. I thought Clegg had more guile than that. The Lib Dems have been good at protecting the vulnerable from the Conservatives- can you imagine what the likes of Duncan-Smith or Hunt would be like if they had a majority- yet they get all the blame. I guess "we took the edge off them" is a hard sell.

I've been a Lib Dem as long as I've been voting, long before it was fashionable, and I don't see myself changing at this General Election.

If you apply for tickets for shows through the Applause Store (I don't know if TTL uses them or not) then if you turn up and don't get in then you get priority tickets for another recording of your choice.

I thought he came across as a decent, personable bloke but then I remembered he sold us all down the river for a sniff of power and in the process destroyed his own credibility and that of his party for a generation. The Lib Dems will be decimated in the next election. Was it worth it Nick? Really? Is the pension that good?

He seemed nervous, which I suppose was understandable, but came across well and he was trying very hard not laugh at some of the more colourful jokes. Some questions seemed to catch him off guard and he struggled not to say what the wanted to say about various colleagues but I thought he did well.

Quite agree. The Lib Dems did the decent thing and of course have not been able to enforce all their policies. Where would we be if the Conservatives had been in full flow? I think the Lib Dems should take a lot of credit for sticking with the unpalatable, but still getting their 'half'! pound of flesh! Politics is, after all, the art of the possible and all that...

Looks like a complete meltdown for his party.
The LibDems are looking like having just a couple of seats left out of the eleven they hold at present.
And Labour ain't looking too healthy here either going by that massive (16,000) Lord Ashcroft poll.
