This Saturday I intend to travel on the above service (to see Oxford United play away at Stevenage) and I noticed that reservations are recommended for this service; is it genuinely busy or is it a precautionary thing East Coast have with all their services? Thanks! :)

I'm not sure about that service however if you look on RTT for any East Coast service it will always say reservations are recommended.

Best thing for you to do is book a reservation with your ticket then you ought to be fine.

I doubt there will be an issue.

I wouldn't hang around for the EC service specifically though (as they only run every two hours to Stevenage at weekends). The xx22 and xx52 Great Northern services stop at Finsbury Park then Stevenage and take only 24 minutes.

well enough, we did have to stand in the end although arriving at KGX at about 1301 was probably the reason for that! Nice to experience east coast before they are taken over by virgin/stagecoach
