Quick couple of questions....

Has PZ depot stopped doing any maintenance - read somewhere that they had though thought they only did light stuff anyway?
Where is the new St Austell outbase? Is it Carclaze as the 27 timetable suggests or is it East at Eden (!)
What sort of PVR does Truro have now and what routes does it operate?

I think this was discussed earlier in this thread. I recall it being said Eden was being used.

Truro do all MOTs for the Kernow fleet now. Also heard they are doing a few MOTs where space for other small operators.

Thought Eden was being used for the Eden ops but only had authorisation for 5v

Thought the authorisation at Eden was for 5v! I expect the 5th was the 101 car.

However, the allocation must be at least 9 extra with the 4 x 27, 4 x 24 plus the 30 (which works around a school contract?). Looking at the times, assume the 21 is worked by Truro interworking with the TO to NQ routes

The 27 seems to use the same vehicle pool as the 14/18 when I've seen it so at a guess they come from the same depot. The new newquay buses come from truro depot as I see them leaving newham most mornings. In recent times I've only seen the B7RLE and the escaped p&r blue Scania

When I did a ride cornwall the bus I caught from newquay to truro had arrived from St austell. The bus that arrived from truro whilst I was at the depot, then worked to St austell

The 27 boards start at 0615 (NS), 0715 and 0815 (S) from St Austell to Bodmin and 0627 ex Bodmin (0731 Carclaze on Sat) and 0631 (NS) ex Carclaze to Truro.

They finish 1737/1837 ex Bodmin at St Austell (1845/1945) and 1740 ex Truro at Bodmin (1926) and 1835 ex Truro at Carclaze (1929)

Hence my suspicions....

What other bus?

They had 2 tridents, a dart and 2 Primos. The Primos are now in Weston super mare with crosville.
I understood they were keeping one trident but just read both went to first.

Fal River buses had this Iveco for a while, it was ex Williams, Camborne. It carried this livery for a while then got repainted.

That one was on hire to them from an enthusiast employee.

Now in this livery.

They need a decker as the enterprise trip is typically around 60-80 people through July and August. Only required at low tide though, so maybe an agreement with First for a decker as required. Off peak it's normally 20-30 passengers.

First has taken on the schools and boat work, the summer park and ride, the full time driver and three vehicles.

I was doing some gardening this afternoon and the 3 U2s that passed whilst I was in the garden were all Enviros.

Seems that First buses on the U2 are right on "the edge" at the moment........

I'll get my coat.

Anyone know the reason for the existence of the 39B route, being a once-daily in each direction variation of the 39A to run fast between Goldsithney and Penzance? It didn't used to have its own separate number when the 39A was the 13. It's nothing to do with schools, running six days a week as it does.

The Marshall Dart, which I'd not seen for a while, was on Pz local 11 this p.m.

Volvo 66127 was on the 14 & 18 yesterday, first time I have seen it on these routes whilst the ex Fal River Dart sees ocassional use and was on the 39 today.

The Marshall Dart seems to sit around in Camborne most of the day on weekdays & only get used on college services.

I saw the Marshall Dart last night on the 18C Cornwall College - Mousehole. It left Cornwall College with 3 passengers, so does Mousehole really need a college special?

It often gets a decker too - only ever see it p.m. but by Goldsithney/Marazion it never has many passengers.

66127 on the 14 & 18 again today, Trident 32876 was on the U1 service & Olympian 34184 was on the U2 service.

Volvo B10BLE 66126 has made it to Cornwall noted at Camborne today.

Finally one of the Fal River Trident's has received a First fleetnumber although I could not read the registration plate as it was getting dark. Anyway one of them is 34111.

The other is still at Truro station, with Fal River legals as of today.

Guess the question is are they additional for Plymouth, or merely to enable something else to head to Kernow for additional services in February..... there are extra services appearing then, aren't there? I struggle to keep tabs at my age.......

You sure that it's 34111?? - that's one of the last Olympians built (W-CWX) and is supposed to be working contracts at Great Yarmouth. Nice machines, new to Yorkshire Coastliner but worked for First in Bath
