Hello Everyone,

Excuse me if this has already been touched on but all I could find was about the assessments and the next stages of becoming a signaller.

I was just wondering if people knew about the time frame from when the position closes online to when the managers make their decision to interview.

I have applied for several roles now, and on my profile, it says I have passed the test and I have received an PDF letter to that fact. (On my profile it says Test Passed (Date) and then a few days later Test passed )

Anyway, I was just wandering if its a long time or pretty quick. As I have heard and read that they take the top 8 from the online tests for interviews. Or is that the top 8 from the assessment tests.

Any way any help or guidance in this area would be greatly received, as I have already tried two boxes but not been selected to go further.

Thanks all in advance.

Hi

I am just at the end of the process so should have some good info for you.

After passing assessments it's usually 3-4 weeks before the interview.

After this it is probably between 8-12 weeks for medical and references to go through etc and booked onto a training course (few and far between at the moment)

Good luck

Cool.

Is that 3-4 weeks from the application closing? Plus a week for all test results to be in.

Which job did you go for?

I've just re read your post and realised I made an error.

It about 2-3 weeks after post closing that you are invited to sit assessments and tests. I found out fairly prompty (1-2 weeks) that I had passed these and then after that it's 3-4 weeks to interview (varies some sooner some longer).

After interview I would realistically look at 8-12 weeks before starting the job itself if not longer (again dependant on box).

Good luck

I honestly wouldn't put a time frame on it. It can vary enormously box to box. Just rest assured that they won't forget about you. It is worth the wait.

which are box are you at mate?
I'm thinking it must be my test scores on judgement test. Or that I've got a really rubbish covering letter. :(

For the judgement test, wait 5 days from when it closed (allows everyone to of say it then)

Then add possibly a week on top (nothing makes sense in the HR world)

Then it could be a few weeks before you get an assessment, then same for interview.

I had applied for a job earlier september, I still hasn't had an interview when I withdrew the application last week (even though I was waiting a date for one!) this was the same for a few vacancies. Although it is different internally with waiting for release dates etc.

What boxes you all gone for?

The best thing I can suggest is wait.it can range from a few weeks to a few months, depending how busy the LOM is, how busy the assessors are etc

I've applied twice and completed the judgement tests for both (score carried over from the first) and heard nothing since. My first application was Rugby which I have been told there will probably be a lot of internal applicants as well (closed 26th November, I did my judgement before it even closed) and then Whissendine box was my second for which applications closed new years eve, and I haven't heard anything back since applying

The status of both just says 'Test Completed'

I spoke to them the other day, and they are pretty swamped under at the minute with a lot of new starters etc so give it a while!

I work in a London power box.

If you're worried about test scores, call HR.

Otherwise, just wait.

Would they discuss that? As the test scores are valid for a year, so every position I go for could be wasting my time if I have a really low score of the judgement test.

Oh well chin up and keep applying and looking.

I think they would discuss that.

To be honest, if you had failed the SJT, your application wouldn't have progressed past that stage.

It's worth an ask. Although they do generally have the stance of "we don't release test results as they are unhelpful and meaningless to the applicant"

No harm in trying tho!
