Just had a thought for another game, just to see how many songs we know whose titles can relate to railways in some way or another! :)

There are a lot of obvious ones like Soul Train and Midnight train to Georgia, but I wonder how many obscure ones can we dig up? :D

anyone know who that was? Only heard it once on some radio station..

'Up the Junction' by Squeeze - mentions Clapham and there's a reference to a pub named 'The Railway Arms'.

'Electric Trains', also by Squeeze - well, kinda obvious :p I believe they also wrote a song named 'Third Rail'. These three songs together could easily be seen as a reference to third rail electric trains through Clapham Junction. Maybe they are the spotters at the London-end of the platforms that are there come rain or shine? :p

I remember watching some Train related TV Programme ages ago, maybe it was Classic Trains, and there was some guy singing a song about "I fired the hoe - tried every trick I know with the rake and dart and that old fart cos he was an ASLEF man" or something like that.

Our version was a bit different at school:
To stop the train
in case of an emergency

We had £25 at our school as well sometimes. Seemed to depend on what teacher we had. Best choir warm-up ever, though.
