37254 to move to the Spa Valley

Dutch liveried 37254 is to move to the Spa Valley Railway from its current site at Sellinge near Ashford in Kent (via somewhere for tyre turning). The move is expected to take place later this month and the 37 should be used during the Diesel Gala on 26/27 April at the Spa Valley. It also enables 37254 to have proper runs in preservation as currently it is stabled on a short piece of track in a private area which only enables it to move a few metres.

I had a slight suspicion that they might do it there, it seems sensible really with 37254 just down the road. I assume the wheel lathe at Hitachi Ashford is little used at the moment, only used to turn wheel sets for 395's.

Hoping to get down on the 27th for this, only thing is will be arriving at Crewe about Midnight off a 37 tour, then off to the Spa Valley! Think Rick said he would drive, better find him some petrol money 8)

Obviously not now, although when with the 37254 guys yesterday they said nothing about tyre turning only brake block changes over a pit in the shed at Tunbridge Wells.

37254 arrived at Tunbridge Wells West, Spa Valley on 27th March and undertook a test run with 33063 and some engineers wagons on the 28th.

It hasn't been removed, 37254 was never a splitbox.
