Oh right thanks anyway, wonder how many Solos have been bought?

Four from Ensign - the silver one, the two ex regal Busways ones now green and one more still to come. Plus the ex Bath one that came via Bridgwater.

Both Vario's were in use on Monday on a mix of services (6,11 & 16) whilst today the 6 was covered by 2 Solo's for all or part of the day. 52526 was the only Vario I saw today and it was on the 16. A Solo was on the 11 today.

Not sure what the livery situation is, I thought future repaints would be the same as carried by Solo's 53402 - 53404 or as per 53709.

The Fal River Dart has been present since before Christmas.

Fal River drivers have joined First, allegedly with their buses!

Darn, missed them today and even had a spin down to Mousehole on 53826 and yes, 53709 was the other 6!

Is that the new livery for FK (pending a new brand and logo with a common livery with BoS) or is that the full rebrand (surely not)?

It was always the intention to retain the First Kernow name and local management wanted green, among other alternatives, so I assume that is the final livery.

They were always interim liveries and not intended to be the future standard.

Shame I prefer the "interim" liveries, saying that I haven't seen the green colours properly.

Looks identical to BoS and I guess that makes sense in moving vehicles around. However the use of the FK fleetname in that format looks a bit unfinished, like it too is an interim measure. If what you say is correct and that's the final look, it's a bit underwhelming. Clearly the interim liveries were just that; keeping some recognisable look but without a full repaint prior to the new livery though the red/white/blue examples had a hint of Badgers and Flags about them!

On another note, notice that FK have got posters and timetable cases erected on the new 24 route. Not certain if they ever removed the bus stop flags from their vacation of the area but they've got most things sorted.

I'm not saying how the FK name is applied is the final look, because I simply don't know. What I do know is that the First Kernow brand is staying and green was always the preferred future colour.

I do agree that the First-style name doesn't look right here. Hopefully there will be something a bit more prominent on larger buses.

Vario 52554 was in action on the 11 town service in Penzance at around 1630 hrs this afternoon. I was unable to monitor proceedings at Penzance as I was in the town on other business.

Fal River Cruises Trident & Dart at First Camborne depot late morning.

Would the relaunch of FK be something like February?

Impressed by the roadside publicity already up in St Austell, Mevagissey and Pentewan ready for new services.

So do recent developments mean that FK will take on Fal River's work as well as registering a service to partly replace CB? Noticed one of the former FHD Darts (42522) near Carnon Downs today - all part of the fleet increase for new routes

Quite.... I live in Somerset and live entirely on a diet of Cheddar and Scrump! :p

Any other ideas for FK that might be appropriate/synonymous with Kernow? St Michaels Mount? An overly expensive cream tea? The Alps of China Clay country?

A mining engine house. Pirates and pasties are definitely out!

Another recent Dart arrival at Camborne is 42521.

I saw a K Reg Leyland Olympian (34629) heading into Newquay on the 91 just before 1pm, there might be a bus shortage as it was seen being hurriedly got ready at Camborne at 0915 this morning.

Uni bus Enviro 400 33666 on the 90 at Newquay also at lunchtime.

Buses of Kernow with a pasty replacing the Somerset Apple ;)

Cornwall is also well known for its cider. Healeys being the big local cider farm, with their orchard not more than a few miles from my home.

How about a picture of a engine house from the mining days?

That's as maybe but surely the pasty is synonymous with Cornwall (as cider is to Somerset). However, think a mine engine house would be an excellent idea.

Little surprised that they're going with green as house colour. Surely another firm has already gone green unless WG are going to adopt.... Velvet pink!

Swear I saw a Marshall Dart Penzance-bound at 16.30 today - opposite Sainsbury's (how I long to still say heliport) with 'sorry not in service' on the blind and service 00, apparently with a regular driver, not a fitter. I promise I've not got a hangover.

For the logo, they could do a 'Wycliffe' and juxtapose a mining engine house with St Michael's Mount. According to that TV series, SMM was a five minute drive from Newquay!

The new colours remind me of London & Country, born out of London Country (South West) and now known as Arriva (Kent & Surrey). Their two greens were applied horizontally rather than vertically but I, for one, thought it quite attractive when freshly painted.

Are you referring to the dereg livery and not the London & Country one with red added....which was also designed by Ray Stenning's stable
