They'll send the results back to your TOC and then depends how long it takes the TOC to let you know, too!

When I had mine in October I was told on the spot I had passed subject to the result of the D&A test.

This was the case for me, the only thing they cannot give results for is the Drugs and alcohol screening as this is typically a urine sample that needs lab testing.

Mine didn't need screening. I peed in a bottle with chemicals already in the bottle(bottle was sealed and chosen by me). After a few minutes, as long as the colour didn't change, it was a pass.

I think that's just to prove you really have just 'done the business' and not smuggled some other sample in. As stated by someone else the actual test is done at external labs. If it was an 'instant' result I am sure everyone would use it!

This is correct as I moved depots and most likely work for the same company as you and my pee test was into a tube with chemicals and the doctor rang the manager there and then and faxed off my pass however some companies use different methods, including the response from the took if the sample was sent away it will be about a week before you get the mail/phone call. To just confirm this was a drugs test only as they used a breathalyzer for the Alcohol test

Done one at Bupa, Kings X last Tuesday, got results Wednesday afternoon.

when I had mine earlier this year they told me there and then that as long as the Urine sample comes back clear of drugs Id passed the medical .

About a week later I recieved an email from my TOC HR department confirming the pass .

Im basically on the back up list for a job if anyone turns it down or fails the medical. Was just wondering, from reading this forum for a good while not many people fail medicals do they ?

I have only heard of one, who failed on the hearing test, but apart from that no it doesn't look like it

Yea im not holding much hope , It would be a harsh way to go too . Imagine doing all that work with the assesments and managers interview to fail on the medical .

Done it myself on LUL due to being slightly too colourblind!

Never really knew how long mine took for my current job as it was a case of "you've passed everything but the urine sample, if that comes back clean you won't hear anything, if it doesn't come back clean you definitely will hear something"!

Yea i found out i was on the back up yesterday , they said to stay in touch and give them a call January time . Gonna try some other companies in the mean time .

Did you get a job with another company then ? Do different companys have different standards for the medical?

Not sure mate about the different standards of medical GTR use the Bupa at Kings Cross not sure on others

Know a guy who failed due to cannabis in the system. People think they can beat the system by stopping their habits at a certain time. You never know mate, you may get lucky due to someone else's stupidity.
