Are the Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft 47's and coaches still running? I am on that area on Friday on my rover and am trying to plan a few alternative routes.
IF they are i will hang about!

The hauled set does have a nominated diagram (documented elsewhere), but as it is really just a DMU working in disguise don't be surprised if a DMU turns up if availability happens to be good.

There are two places to check if the Short Set is running, there is:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/266595820160418/ which is a Short Set Gen group on facebook or you can join https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/anglia-gen/conversations/messages which is called Anglia Gen and they provide information if the Short Set is running and also some diagrams for its workings later in the day.

These groups will also help you because they will be able to tell you if the Short Set has been replaced with a DMU.

That Facebook group is probably the most accurate source of publically available info on the comings and goings of the hauled set. Most of the gen there comes from the members, a large number of whom are GA staff of various seniorities and locations (including but not limited to Norwich drivers and guards).

I'm sure dk1 will correct me if I'm wrong but there is no connection between the two locos so there is no fire alarm or way to shutdown the rear loco from the front one. Thus in the unlikely event of a fire or alarm in the rear loco there needs to be a rider.

Spot on. Only way around this is to shut the loco down each time but the timetable does not allow for this & you run the risk of problems restarting each time.

Anglia gen reports they have been heard this morning on the ECS movement but from observation they can drop off at any time.

No, still about. Bridge at Acle is fixed. The people of Lingwood can enjoy the 1970s again!

I worked them to Yarmouth and back on Thursday afternoon.

Yes. Normally the driver in the country end loco drives to Yarmouth or Lowestoft and the driver in the city end loco drives back to Norwich.

On Thursday (last time I saw it before today) it was formed of 47805 + DRS Mk2 TSO + Anglia Mk2 TSO + DRS Mk2 BSO + 47828. However spotted it today in the low level sidings and the Anglia Mk2 has gone, replaced with another DRS Mk2, assume another TSO. For a brief time before it came into service it was formed of a TSO+TSO+BFK. So disappointed the BFK went before service started, it would have been amazing to see corridor stock in revenue service in 2014.

As to the 37s + DBSOs messroom talk has basically been they are coming next week/month since April(ish). When or if they are actually coming, no idea.

The DVT was there to provide a brake vehicle and somewhere for the conductor to sit. The BSO now provides those services with the added bonus of half of it being available for seating.

Like you say the chance to travel on the mainline nowerdays in a compartment,and 1st class at that is something I would dearly love to sample again. I didn't even realise there were any such vehicles still registered for mainline use, apart from support vehicles, presume this was one of the later mk2d aircon examples?

Sounds like they hired a Mk2 from Riviera Trains (charter operator), as they have a number of Mk2s in Anglia livery.
