Hi, this is possibly a pretty dumb question, but I'd just like some clarification..

Can you buy an off peak day Travelcard (Z1-6) with a 16-25 railcard discount from a DLR TVM?

If it matters, the station would be Royal Victoria or Custom House.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Bizarrely the only discount options at DLR machines is 16-17 Photocard, 18+ Student, Disabled, Family, HM Forces, Network Railcard, Gold card and Senior.

I have no idea if their machines are like LU ones where they only print that it is a Railcard, and not the type of Railcard.

That is typical! <(

Next question then, can you buy a 16-25 discounted Z1-6 travelcard in advance from an NR or LU ticket office (would be the previous day in this case)?

Should be okay. In the evening many TVMs will offer tickets for the next day, or next working day, so try them first, if not ask at the ticket office :)

Don't believe I've ever seen a ticket office on the DLR.

DLR stations are unstaffed usually. Although I believe Custom House may have some staffing when events are on at ExCel.

He was talking about LU and NR stations.

The DLR City Airport station has a ticket office, however.

That is something I've wanted an answer for as well :D. Wanted to try it at times but didn't want hassle if it didn't work out, or a waste of £5.90! Even less need for it these days as I have a Z1-5 season.

Would love to confuse staff with one though as they use their own ticket stock <D

Will probably give this a try :)

Buying the travelcard from a TVM at Euston the evening before its validity date didn't prove a problem.

NR stations can sell tickets for future dates, but LU stations can't.
LU stations can sell tickets for dates in advance, I have bought them myself many times. There is however a limit, but I don't remember what it is.

DLR ticket machines print "REDUCED TRVLCRD" on discounted day tickets and do not name a specific Railcard type.
