We make the half-mile walk to the railway station and get there just in time for the 17:23 Chiltern Trains Service 1H78 to London Marylebone, arriving there at 19:15 on Sunday Evening. (Adjusted times to allow for 25min walk to station).

We then head up to the main railway station concourse and embark on a late night Pendolino journey as we board 1G70, the 2325 Virgin Trains service to Wolverhampton, arriving there at 0100 in the early hours of Monday morning.

The fact that such a service exists so late on a Sunday evening I think is pretty impressive.

Doesn't matter wither way, because when we get to Wolverhampton, we find that the train station is about to close and we're moved on by security. We struggle to find any digs for the night, and sleep in a cardboard box outside the concourse. Intending to awaken for the first London train of the day, we actually have a very good sleep and miss it, but do catch the first train we come across.

Boarding Virgin Trains' 1D80 service at 05:48, we arrive at Holyhead where the train terminates at 08:20 on Monday morning.

We step out of the station, and many buses pass the stop outside. We opt for the 28A operated by townlynx which arrives at 10:45. It conveys us towards Wrexham, but we decide to bail slightly earlier when we get to Hope (at Hall Drive) at 11:33 on Monday morn.
