hi,

new to this forum, been browsing purely for this thread. I had my interview last thursday which i believe was the last day for interviewing. I know for a fact a couple of people i work with received letters on thursday confirming they had passed and given dates for psychs, and a metro driver friend of mine confirmed a few internal candidates found out on wednesday, but maybe this is purely down to it being easier to tell them straight away without the wait. i haven't had anything yet so hoping its not a case of sending out those that have passed first, then the rejections after

Received a revision pack on the 5th inviting me down to Doncaster to sit tests. I was told that top 8 start in February then anyone else that passes are kept on a shortlist - so as and when they need people - they won't need to interview again.

When do you sit the tests?

Hi all.

Quick question, I sat the assessment day in Doncaster Wednesday the 26th November, after the interview they told me that I had passed and my information would be stored on the central database, but does anybody know how long or what actually happens now until I hear anything back.

Thanks in advance.

They train 8 at a time starting February and I think it's 4 or 5 months. Depending how high you scored on application, interview and test will determine how quickly you start.

Usual stuff, weight and height, hearing test, eye test, colour blindness test (Isihara plates), urine sample for drug/alcohol testing and an ECG.

Has anybody else heard anything? I thought they may have let people know even if they were unsuccessful for the feb intake!!!

I rang HR last week - think they might send letters out to people to say what's happening. Looks like a bit of patience is needed - my mate is currently in training and started a year and a half after passing the tests/interview!

Been told that there is another shortage of drivers this year, so possibly 4 schools going through (which should equate to 32 drivers).

Cheers Ratty81! I went to a place at the Regents Centre - yes I think there will probably be a few intakes from this latest recruitment drive so fingers crossed it's sooner rather than later for you.

Cheers! Aye very lucky to be in the first intake. A friend of mine is in the current training school from September and he's really enjoying it so very encouraging.

When will they next be advertising for positions? Judging by this thread I'm guessing it could be a while...

I think there are at least five or six training courses going to be ran from this intake so could be over two years before the next interview process begins.

Don't suppose anyone has heard anything? I have heard that those starting on the june intake have been told.
That could mean the next intake is Oct time? I'm only putting two and two together, possibly getting five!

I think there will probably be 2 more intakes this year so October will be about right.
