If this newer version is more spacious inside than the one it replaces than I will be happy with that: with the current E200 (not the newer one) I find I have to sit at an angle to be comfy.

I wasn't sure about it to start with, but now I've seen a few pictures I've decided I actually like it. Not much of a fan of the small round lights, but that seems to be an industry wide styling trend..

That would be BX03 OVZ. It was previously with First as a demonstrator, with stints in York & Glasgow.
It's now known within the McGill's fleet as G2228.

I rode on the First E400's in the Falmouth area yesterday on the U1/U2 services and it was after dark. It was noticeable how even with the headlights on, the road ahead of the bus did not seem to be illuminated very well.

That's a major disadvantage in Cornwall given the poor levels of street lighting even in some of the towns.

It's a bit more spacious inside than the old one - there's also now two seats behind the drivers cab/bulkhead much like an Optare Versa/Tempo.
Not a fan of the styling at all, however, as discussed with trentside earlier today, ugliness appeared to be a general theme for ADL and Wrightbus this year.

Agreed. More than a passing resemblance. I much prefer the look of the Streetlite, and in my experience ADL have a long way to go to match Wright's build quality.

It is a Short Wheelbase one.

Plaxton coaches seem pretty well built so I don't know why ADL buses are so bad

Wrights build quality these days isn't wonderful.
