Assessment with Southern Railway

hi all, i have applied for job with southern nearly a year ago, just got a reply today telling me that i have been selected for an online assessment, and offered me to look at “Frontline Practice Material” which i do not know where to find, it was not part of the attachments and no link was provided.

Can someone tell me what is this assessment about?

in the email itself there is an invitation as well to attend an assessment at Knollys House in Croydon which consist of :

· a train dispatch assessment
· and a role play

has anyone been to similar one? please any suggestions and advice will be much appreciated

The job i have applied for was ticket office sale, so what is this train dispatch assessment for?

The train dispatch assessment is listening to a cd and then answering a question on what you heard. This test basically shows that you can multitask as in your case would be listening to the customer whilst you are on the computer sorting out their tickets/queries and listening to the tanoy for train/platform alterations.

The role play is to see how you deal with a customer under pressure when things go wrong.

They should have attached some documents on your email so you can have a practice at the sort of things you will be tested on.

the only attachment i got was the maps and address, any more details on the test?what kind of situations? and also the online test what is it like?

Did you get a link for the online assessment? There is also a mistake to get it done by Monday 26th of September I guess they meant Friday.

the email i got was all wrong, there is no link to the practice test and the date is wrong and it took them 6 months to send it, so i might be all gone lol
