Scottish pubs being allowed to open all night seems a cracking idea. A&E is going to be busy in the morning.

If Scotland does become Independent will it be a bigger Country than The Republic of Ireland by GDP etc ?

Buttstradamus's final prediction 30 minutes prior to the Polls Closing....

Scotland will vote to remain part of the UK

Narrow No vote. Or at least extremely close. Anyway apparently lots of polling stations have had brilliant turn outs. One Girlfriend went to in Armadale she said was empty, but the lists had nearly all names crossed out.

Anyone know why we're not getting an exit poll? Too expensive?

Someone suggested that because the polls a few weeks ago said it would be a pretty comfortable "No", the media organisations didn't think it was worth commissioning an exit poll.

Also the difficulty in deciding which polling stations to target to get a fully representative sample, given there's no historical data.

How do we know that?
Presumably someone took a poll??

I want to know why they've put so much emphasis on the "Poll of Poles"? I would not have thought that Scotland's Polish population would have that much influence on the outcome...<D

To continue the flippant note, England's Scottish population haven't had much influence either.

I wouldn't be too confident about that YouGov poll just yet. I do hope No win, but I have concenrs.

On the other hand, I have an almost morbid curiosity to see what would happen if Yes wins it.

Radio 4/5 for me!

They are talking about a massive turnout - perhaps the highest ever for a UK election. It all seems very close.

One count has already declared overwhelmingly yes - the Royal and Ancient have voted to accept women members! ;)

From Twitter:

There is no exit poll. Predictions dangerous given no previous vote on this question or with this turnout or with 16/7 year olds voting

Some silly wumman on The BBC has just said that "there is a lot of depravity too" when describing Fife in general and Kircaldy in particular.
Deprivation hen, deprivation! Much mirth behind the camera. :D

The rUK can enjoy some fine Scottish TV tonight as STV are going out right across the ITV Network and also on UTV...

PS...Forget Huw and Nick, we've got Bernard Ponsonby! :)

This is genuinely exciting!

The result really is unknown and could go either way. Pollsters have no data, poiltiocs have no idea if they have won or lost, the people have been energised, participation is massive and democracy seems to be strengthend!

Indeed. To be serious for once, I have been concerned at the low turnout for all sorts of elections in recent years. Great to see so many voting, however they vote.

My only concern is in the event of a yes vote, what will I call my O-level in British Constitution?
