This Sunday there are no trains from Gatwick Airport to Brighton operated by FCC due to engineering work.

FCC website states "Trains will not run between Haywards Heath and Brighton. Please use alternative services between Haywards Heath and Brighton running via Hove."

Are Superoffpeak return FCC tickets still valid on Sunday?

Surely such ticket restrictions apply to the company that takes over a franchise? I was using "GNER only" tickets on NXEC for a couple of months.

Of course they do. The point that FCC cease to operate on Sunday morning is a complete red herring as far as the original question is concerned.

TSGN took over from FCC. Southern and Gatwick Express services join TSGN next year. An FCC Only ticket would be fine for the former FCC services, but I'm not putting a bet on Southern services in normal operation anytime soon.

That said, I'm sure any 'FCC Only' tickets in use (which will include season tickets lets not forget) would be valid for use on the alternative route mentioned during the engineering works. Whether you could actually buy one now for travel on Sunday is another matter entirely.
