Well it's four weeks today since my final interview and no news regarding a medical as yet. Has anyone else received any news for the January intake?

I received a letter about my initial training in Crewe starting next month. I'm booked into a hotel Sunday to Friday. Does anyone know what the actual hours are? Is Friday a full day?

Hi richio. Congrats by the way. Are you paying for the hotel out of your own pocket or does freightliner pay for your lodgings.

Thanks for the pictures of 81A brought back many great memories, I was a Driver there from 1987 till it closed and we moved up to Paddington/Acton.
Thanks again

Has anyone else passed the medical for Freightliner HH and not got a start date. Everyone else on this thread who passed the medical is starting 22nd September, however that is not the case for me. Just wondering if there is anyone else in this position. Does anyone know how long the medical results last for? Some people have stated the next intake is not until January next year, why would you have a medical in August (like me) if the start date is 5 months after?

I did. To say the response to my call was not welcomed is an understatement, but hey it's their money not mine. I'll just apply to other companies in the mean time and let this one come to its own outcome.

I'm beginning to think that I may have been unsuccessful after reading this, and the fact that they are advertising for Qualified drivers.

Them advertising for qualified drivers just means they want to get some drivers in for a quicker turn around so they aren't waiting for a full training program the finish
Rumour is there's another intake in January for trainees which is why some people are still going though assessments and interviews
Plus people who have been unsuccessful have received a letter informing them of this.
Don't give up yet as these recruitment processes are known to go on for months and months
The only stage they didn't inform people was with the original application but they had a deadline date to of heard anything with that

I'm in similar boat to you DMD, had my interview in July and not heard anything since, but some of the people who had interview. on same day have had their 'no thanks' letters. They said in my interview the next intake (after September) was January, so I would assume at the min they want to get everything out of the way for the September starters before moving on to the next intake.

I too had an interview a couple of months ago and heard nothing either way.
Seems some have been informed that they have been unsuccesfull and others left in limbo. It's just a big waiting game. I don't think it's bad getting in touch and asking what the crack is. However; doesn't mean they will answer :)

Good luck and no news is good news they say..

I actually sent an email today and got a response. The course for September is full (as we all know), and there will be more courses, however it was not clear whether it would be this year or next. I find it surprising that it would be next year so watch this space.

I hope that I may be on the next intake (as I have passed my medical, this is confirmed) or maybe another one depending on which depots they are looking to fill first. As soon as a decision is made, everyone will then be contacted.

I was asked to be patient and all would become clear. I'm guessing that when you guys start getting letters for medicals we may all here something soon about start dates. I think it was around the 2 week mark, so let me know. Interviews may be ongoing also still.

I think if you had been unsuccessful you would of had the letter by now. Sounds positive to me.

I thought I had heard that as well, but could't find it anywhere. Hope so, why would I have a medical in August (pass it) and not start until January next year (5 months later) wouldn't make any sense.:o

Thanks for the latest responses and certainly makes me feel a little more positive! I had my final interview on 31st july and have not heard anything back so it looks like i'm in the same position as others on here.
When asking about the start date I was told that the september intake was full and the next one would be January. Having read other bits of information on here and other forums I believe that the october intake is for Freightliner Intermodal, though can't confirm this.

I do know an intake for Intermodal is due to start In October, however I still have a feeling something else will happen this side of the year. Well i hope so.

Something worth bearing in mind is a possible shortage of mentor drivers - not everyone wants to do it. Has anyone mentioned this at all with regards to where the graduate vacancies are..?

I was told yesterday that there will be a meeting between drivers and managers to discuss why some of us considering are leaving HH and Intermodal.

Just out of curiosity, those of you with start dates, do you know what depots you will be based at ??

I havn't had a medical yet and sat my interview on the 31st July. I was asked where my preferential location would be and I said the North-east (tees yard). I was told there are three vacancies there.

Hi guys, passed all my tests on the 3/9/14, waiting for letter to arrange medical, can anyone give me an idea of the medical? Do I need to take a sample? I'm a HGV driver so not overly worried but wanted to know what to expect!! Many thanks!!
