Nice! I travelled EMT and got nothing, except an uncomfortable seat.

As for Pride itself, I know numbers grew so large that the event had to be ticketed, but the entry fee is way too much, and you spend all night trying to get served (feel sorry for the bartenders - horrible job and I hope they get triple time considering the cost of entry!). Used to be great fun in the nineties, happy days!

What? £16 for all 4 days if you book early, this pays for all the live music on the 2 stages, loads of security, and substantial donations to charity. Even the last minute price of £22 is fair for that.

I bar hopped the last 2 nights and sat daytime, longest I waited in any bar was about 10 mins to be served and that was extreme. usually 2-5 mins.

Does the ticket allow you free admission at all the clubs in Canal Street?

Until about 11 everything is free, then entry fees are around £3 for some of the clubs but some remain free.

This comment is dodgy, unfunny and unnecesary.
"Designed"? by who exactly??

Who cares who designed them, the question is whether adapters exist that can be used. Virgin certainly addressed the subject when the pendos came along.

That said, as trains don't decide by themselves what they will do on a given day, but resource planners and drivers do, the word frivolous or naive may be more appropriate.

Note TPE were handing out freebies for passengers travelling between the Airport and Piccadilly and only had 1000 so they wouldn't have stretched very far. I'm guessing TPE thought targeting people arriving in the country may have more of an impact than targeting regular commuters.

Care to enlighten?

Have TPE got a history of doing the same for other events? Tour de France, Super League Grand Final, York Races and so on?

I thought Northern had the TdF 'official trains' (well apart from SNCF)

And the Pink Pound is worth chasing - Most L&G couples are Dual Income and No Kids. They have £££!

Couples? I only know one and they are dirt poor! :p

But I agree, pride events have become too commercialised for my liking. Haven't been to any since 2010.

It's somewhat hard to make a pun on "First Trans-pennine Express" for any other event. First Très-Pennine Express, perhaps?

Gay/Lesbian/Transgender pride also has the advantage of making any company seem modern and in solidarity with those groups.

I go to the Brighton Pride one 'cos it's an excuse to meet up with friends, and I normally end up in hi-viz... that jacket has advantages!

Also everyone I know there could bankrupt the parish poor box in seconds. :D
