Only one pair stays coupled all day, that is the pair that does the first service from Manchester northwards, The other one that does the 1500 from Manchester Airport splits from its 350/4 partner in Glasgow then works alone back to Carlisle whereupon it ends up as the Southern unit with the 2014 from Edinburgh. The 350/3s should work on each diagram on alternate days.

Not quite. The 20:47 arrival at Manchester Airport also splits with the rear portion going ECS to Preston with the front portion waiting at Manchester Airport to work ECS to Ardwick with the next 350 arrival an hour later.

Now that the games are over are the LM 350/3s going home or are they staying on whilst the Edinburgh Fringe etc. is on?

Or even are they staying on as a buffer to allow the various 350/4 bugs to be sorted once and for all?

Anyone know?

Yes they're staying for Edinburgh strengthening, think the release date is 26/08.

Thanks for that. I've started a new thread in case anyone is interested.:)

Well I did but it got deleted for some reason?

Anyone know which EDB workings are being strengthened?

That's strange as I was told that they were all going home to LM with the exception of one unit which would be loaned to TPE until the end of August, love to know which one though.

They will all go home at the end of August but the two on loan for the Glasgow games are also staying on for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

There is only two on loan, 350373 & 350374.

There was a 3rd for 110mph 13 car testing for TPE.

Anyone able to help with which workings they should be on? Please?

It's been on the 0615 EDB-MAN, 1000 MAN-EDB, 1416 EDB-MAN, 1800 MAN-EDB the last two days. Went for a ride, LM units aren't bad - TPE are doing them a favour, breaking in those hard seats.

350374 was reported elsewhere going off hire on Monday evening do presumably just 350373 needed to make sufficient Edinburgh runs 8 coach.

Are they good to travel on? Few pics about. Will the 350/1s be refurbished internally?
Also will TPE keep the Scotland services for much longer?

Thanks for that. Just happens that the 0615 off EDB is about the only FTPE train that doesn't call at Lockerbie so I won't see that.

That seems to a strange set of working to strengthen; I would have thought the 0558 MIA to EDB and subsequent workings would have been more appropriate to take people to and from EDB.

Maybe they are simply looking at those people travelling up and spending a few days in EDB rather than day trippers.

Sorry I don't think I explained myself well there. I was aware it was only two on loan (373/374).

I am more surprised that TPE haven't swapped them for other 350/3s though to give some of them a chance of a run before LM use them.

Extra cost in swapping/prepping units? Or maybe, better the devil you know than one you don't? Depends what is specified in the sub lease contract really.

How do they manage a 13-car formation when all the 350s are 4-car units?

Sandwich a 185 and 2 car 170 between two 350s?;)

Just think you could have new wavy, old wavy and green/grey in one formation.

(and yes I know it isn't possible to couple that lot up or run them at 110mph).

350374
Did an ECS Crewe to Ardwick this evening

I was on this train from Manchester Airport to Wigan. Guard said it should have been two 185's. Passengers rammed in !

Noted large number passengers from Manchester to Wigan using this train rather than the following Airport to Southport train. This four coach unit was also full ,when I used it on Thursday.

Seen at Carlisle 14/8/14 at 1538hrs , 350408 + 350372 on 1416 Edinburgh - Manchester Airport.

Was LM 350372 originally going to be 350302 ?

If that 350/3 unit number is correct there has been another unit swop as has always been 373 and/or 374.

There has. 350373 went back to Crewe being replaced by 350372 for much of this week.

Whilst that is true, someone in the Rolling Stock Library allocated carriage numbers as if they were to be 350301 to 350310 so that 350372 carries numbers ending in 5. Are the follow on carriage numbers from the 350/2s not available - eg 350372 could be 61472-65272-67572-61572 instead of 60145-60515-60655-60155? It seems odd to refer to the numbering sequence being full up when they don't complete the ones they do allocate.

Same thing as why 377/7s didn't follow on from 377/6?
