Mine was for a TOC I'm nearly finished my training..

Point I'm making is do not think because you are at DM stage that means your home and dry-you are very far from it

Does anyone know if it's possible to fail the DM interview? Also, is there any update on if you pass your medical, does this mean you'll be offered a job?

Melkozzy I had medical mid July was told I had passed and still not heard anything further, so not sure it's guaranteed however I'm trying to find this out on here but no one seems to know for sure.

How long did people hear about a medical after the dm interview? Had mine over a week ago just want to hear about a medical now, anyone fail the dm interview?

No, not sure how many get through to medical. I presumed to get that far the job would have been secured, but after not hearing anything since I passed I'm not sure anymore!

Same, however i cannot see people being sent to their medical without being earmarked for a post. I would imagine a medical in Harley street is pretty expensive.

I would want to promote false hope but if you've passed your assessments and interviews then a medical should just be a formality.

That's reassuring Aivilo, how long was it after your medical until you got ur contract? It's been over 2 weeks for me now, I'm hoping I'll find out something next week. I've missed the Sept intake with notice for my current job etc but think there is another intake in January?

I'm coming as a qualified and was offered the job after my interview pending a medical which wouldn't have been an issue.

I'm waiting for it in black and white but have a start date etc in principal

Bindy were you told when the intakes were? I would have thought you'd have been kept waiting while they get others through their Medicals so they have enough people to start the first intake,

The first intake is at the end of September for trainees.

I would imagine that those who have had medical already are successful and those that haven't aren't seems freightliner and db schenker operate the same way from past experience.

And I would imagine freightliner are hoping for qualified as db are so they don't have to train anyone saves them money and all the hassle and emails and phone calls.

Could be wrong obviously but seems over the last two years that this is the same every time they advertise for jobs.

Ends up not being many jobs for trainees if any.

Then they just say your in a talent pool.

Which is excellent but the wait is not good.

Yes that's what I was told Aivilo but nothing is concrete until we get contracts. Can't hand in my notice until I have it confirmed.

It was hinted that it would be September, and another in January. They can't wait until everyone has had their medicals to fill the Sept course because most people need to give 2 months notice in their current jobs, which is too late for me. I'm hoping I've made the next intake in January.

Just found this post in the db trainee section

Can only let you know whats happening in my area we have taken on loads of ground staff all from outside railways. But nearly all trainee driver were from ground staff and engineering all ready working for db as far as i know its like that at most depots
Only trainee drivers I know from out outside had applied for management jobs and had been through very long interview stages and assessments + drivers assessment
Then very few out of hundreds of applicants got offered driving jobs

Ah right that's a bit crap well I hope your lucky with a January intake then, I've got my medical next week if I'm successful I may still make the September intake as I've only got to give 4weeks but I can only wait and see

Had actual medical 3 weeks after DM. Passed medical but still not heard anything concrete about a contract and it's been 2 1/2 weeks since my medical. Fingers and toes are crossed!

How long did It take for them to send you a letter telling you the medical date?

Got the letter two weeks after DM had the medical the following week.

I heard about 2 weeks after the interview, but I wouldn't think to much into timescales as everyone is at different stages

I had my stage 2 and MMI on 17 July and have heard nothing, so not holding out much hope!

i've got my next stage of testing and MMI on the 18th august, starting to brick it a bit reading this thread, MMI seems like quite a grilling!

No, Bindy still waiting, rang today, i have passed my medical so just waiting now. My problem is the notice period i would like to be given an offer a couple of months in advance!

I cannot see anyone who has got as far as passing the medical not getting an offer of employment.......can you?
