They seem to be frequently used on the same diagrams:

05:00 MAN-GLC.
09:07 GLC-MIA.
13:00 MIA-GLC.
17:06 GLC-MIA.

07:00 MIA-GLC.
11:09 GLC-MIA.
15:00 MIA-GLC.
19:40 GLC-MIA.

This means both units end up at Ardwick overnight.

Can anyone confirm weekend workings however?

According to the brief I have seen, no additional working from Glasgow on Friday or Saturday nights. On Sundays there is an additional 1Z89 (1906 Glasgow Central-Manchester Piccadilly) which should be a 350/3. However, this brief does also state that 1Z94 (1940 Glasgow Central-Carlisle) departs at 1955.

Edit: 1S35 (0700 Manchester Airport-Glasgow Central) was the normally booked single 185 today.

Edit 2: 350373 was on the back of 1M94 (0907 Glasgow Central-Manchester Airport).

350374 was on the rear of the 09:00 Manchester Airport-Glasgow Central service today. This particular service was well loaded but not crowded.

And here it is en route back to Manchester, a long way from home.

Hopefully the picture attached uploads ok.
350374 last Thursday 24th July at Glasgow Central.
350410 was on the rear.

Today I saw 350373 depart south to man apt at 1109 with what looked like 350406 conformation would be appreciated if anyone else saw that working?

Thanks,

Keith.

The extra capacity was certainly needed today. Both the 0711 from LOC-GLC (0500 ex MAN) and return at 1706 from GLC were fully seated in all eight cars, with a few commuters standing to Motherwell on the 1706.

Are they being used on the same routes as the 380s? It'd be interesting to see coupled together a a TPE liveried 350, a LM liveried 350 and a ScotRail liveried 380

Quote of the Day from one of the Network Rail staff at Piccadilly, talking to the TPE people:

"What are all of these green trains going to Glasgow about!? They have two different carriage letters, a permanent one and a stuck on one, so you have to argue with the passengers that you are putting them in the right coach!"

Heheh.

I notice these trains have power in standard class - not something available on any other London Midland train? Shame it is only available 2 per table of four and not in any airline seats really. I notice First has 1 power socket per seat though which is very good, and I think the same as the other LM 350s. I'm pretty sure that the seats in a /3 are more padded than a /1, as well as having a bigger table and the aforementioned plugs. The /3 also only has two loos per set, not 3 like a /4.

No. There are common sections of route, say GLC to CRS en route to MIA for Tpex and EDB for Scotrail, but the only remote possibility of a 380 coupled to a 350 would appear to be if assistance was needed for a failed train.

Even then, as many of the GLC to EDB via Kirknewton services appeared to have been turned over to 156/158 working (which then can't keep the electric stock times) in the Games stock shuffle, that scenario will almost certainly never happen.

I'd have thought electrics would struggle to keep to diesel timings, or indeed any timings at all, as the Shotts route isn't electrified yet...

Disruption caused by someone threatening to jump off a bridge at Hest Bank. Lines are open again and trains are starting to move.

Oops! Your right of course should be via Kirknewton.

All gone to pot again today on WCML North.
Trespass incident somewhere between Lancaster and Oxenholme.
Not a good week.

Yes, bit chaotic at EDB this afternoon. The inbound working for the 1612 EDB - MIA arrived late at around 1608, station staff had let everyone onto platform 15 in readiness, and station announcer had announced that owing to a quick turnaround seat reservations would not be available.

Train arrives, everyone piles in and sits down anywhere, only to find that the guard had placed the seat reservation cards, and subsequently made an announcement to the effect that the reservations stand, cue "discussions" between pax in other pax reserved seats etc. etc. all in a full 4 car unit.

Strangely the guard never undertook a ticket check before I got off at LOC.

As I left the station what should have been the preceding MIA service from GLC rolled in around 70' late.

Probably the worst delay of the day?

There's not a lot you can do stuck at Oxenholme for almost 3 hours, anyone know if any road transport was procured?

Yes, they're the first LM units with plug sockets in standard. I agree about the seats, definitely more padded than a /1. Yes the plug arrangement in 1st is the same a the older 350s. The tables on the /3s I believe are the same tables as found in 1st class on the /2s. Maybe wrong but they look the same as the /2 1st class tables and on those there is a blanking plate where the plugs would be fitted.

I notice that 350374 is on the Scottish end of the pairing with 350405 today.

Presumably it has run to EDB at some time then across to GLC which turns the units about, as I'm pretty sure that both LM 350s were on the Manchester end when they started?

They have been remarshalled since their introduction. 350374 was split from its 350/4 partner last night so it's possible it was reformed at the north end when attached to another set.

Only one pair stays coupled all day, that is the pair that does the first service from Manchester northwards, The other one that does the 1500 from Manchester Airport splits from its 350/4 partner in Glasgow then works alone back to Carlisle whereupon it ends up as the Southern unit with the 2014 from Edinburgh. The 350/3s should work on each diagram on alternate days.
