Unipart Group sold Unipart Automotive in 2011, so other than by name they are unrelated now.

I did some work at Unipart Cowley, Oxford a few years ago. It was a big site which was once rail connected. The main wharehouse was huge, as was the accompanying office block. Hopefully there won't be large job losses.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I understand the automotive branch of Unipart has gone into administration. Is Unipart Dorman, Unipart Rail etc a separate entity altogether or are these likely to run into difficulties?

they are seperate companies these days

All staff are going other than those who work in the few stores which have been purchased by rivals.

It seems that, yes, Unipart Automotive is separate. Unipart Group has placed a statement on their website to that effect:

from http://www.unipart.co.uk/
We were saddened to hear that Unipart Automotive, the company we sold in 2011, has gone into administration. Recent press coverage has confused Unipart Automotive with Unipart Group. It is important to note that Unipart Group and Unipart Automotive are different companies.

Unipart Automotive, the branch network which was previously known as Partco, was sold by Unipart Group to H2 Equity Partners in 2011. Unipart Group retained an equity stake, but a condition of the sale was that Unipart Group exercised no control over the business. Unipart Automotive was granted a restricted licence to use the Unipart brand on a limited range of wholesale outlets and a tightly controlled range of automotive car parts.

Who were the main rivals to Unipart Automotive, who I note were taken over by H2 Equity Partners.

In the south west everybody I know of goes to Mill Auto supplies or EuroCarParts.
I don't know whether these two are nationwide but both have a number of branches in Cornwall,
