What in your Opinion is better?

I like these railways but, what do you think is better?
Bluebell Railway
Spa Valley Railway
Cholsey Manor Farm Railway
Swanage Railway
Mid Hants Line ??


Whats your best in your own opinion?

Mine would be the Mid-Hants, followed by the Swanage Railway, then Bluebell and finally the Spa Valley. Not been the Cholsey & Wallingford so can't comment on that one.

I like the Bluebell and the Midhants but the Bluebell is just in front as its all steam apart from the 08, They both are very good both having U classes, even if the midhants isnt useable yet! the Mid Hants has better grades but the Bluebell is more of a vintage railway feel!

Had to say Swanage as out of all of those it was the last place I had a tractor. Worse has got to be the Bluebell as it's tea-makers only, bet it's steam stoat heaven

Spa Valley for me, cracking line with bags of potential and a decent (ie suitable) diesel fleet to boot.

Cholsey does offer some top Guinness gronk thrash!

Mid-Hants is a good line but shame the board lost the plot hock:

I think it all depends in what people likes best, steam or diesel. I think the Bluebell is the best, good fleet of steam locos, home to various sole-survivors and puts on great steam galas. Spa Valley is also a great line and they put on some great diesel galas and as 87015 said it has bags of potential and a decent diesel fleet.

Having said that I've been to all the listed lines and I think all are great for various reasons.

Swanage and Mid hants, both very accesible for me but i think between the two its Swanage for me. Can't place my finger on why, but i think i working there has effected my choice. However the mid hants locos are more my favourites, but that wont be a problem for me in the years to come, Manston and 257 Squadron to come running alongside Eddystone

I cant see them having 3 bullied there at once, Manston is going to scotland for a while anyway! and i think they might put one at the Bluebell for a time, i cant see them having 3 operational bulleids at one time they cant afford to do that, they consume huge ammounts of coal!

And neither of them can beat the bald headed dirty old slag that is 33116.

On topic, I think the Bluebell is a nicely presented railway with a hell of a tunnel.

Swanage ain't bad and I ain't been to the rest so I'm not voting.

Too right, they are very costly locos to run unlike the standard 4MTs or 6695 and with the ever increasing price of coal, efficiancy is essential . But they wont get rid of them straight away and while they're together i'll be sure to be around as much as possible!

Ummm well Manston is going straight to scotland once its overhaul is finished, And 257 is still quite a way off, i cant see them having all 3 in steam at one time!

Well i personally cant see it going off without a couple of runs. Be a bit dissapointing for Herston works to take her out of the workshop and send it up on its way to Scottland without seeing it run at Swanage
