I don't think I like london for working.

I had to go down to london on friday, expenses paid to heathrow airport, so I thought I'd get a travelcard and go have some watching and see st pancras that I havn't managed to get to yet.

A few problems, that anoyed me slightly about london.

1 - Pindo was delayed at Stafford South Bypass Jcn (Dunno what it's actualy called)
2 - Pindo was delayed at Lichfeild TV on the 2Track with works that where in the wrong place!
3 - Pindo was late into london, so I had missed my appointment after the subsiquent stint on the underground to Heathrow
4 - Hated the underground, first time on a pindo at full tilt and it's like a banking plane, and I don't like them either so I wasn't in the mood for tunnels and pepole rushing past me
5 - Work went fine YAY!
6 - Delays on the picc line back to Green Park for Euston on Vic line, so I missed the pilultimate pindo back to picc by 10 mins
7 - the one thing I wanted to see if I couldn't get to St. Pancras was a sleeper train, as the lowland one pulled in the door shut so I couldn't see it run round
Although we got back into manchester 10mins early, there was no decent alcahol in the shop, and the reheated bacon barm was dry and damp at the same time

Had so much planned, but work overun

I remembered how much I hate london for actualy having to get somwhere rather than going as a tourist, next time I might fly...

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I commute to/from London for work five times a week, and to get to the office from Waterloo I use the buses. It's less faffing around going up and down escalators etc, and it's cheaper too.

Yeah, but it was expenses paid and I don't know london buses...

Neither did I until someone showed me http://www.londonbusroutes.net - a very handy website. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of expenses paid so I make use of the Oyster system (probably much to Yorkie's 'delight')

I spent a week commuting in London on work and it was the most fun, dashing around on the tube all the time, I've had in ages!

I don't like the tube and for most of the time I have been based at Waterloo I tend to cycle in.

I used to find the tube alright, but recently it seems to have been awful. The trains are just so hot and stuffy!

They're definately worse over Summer, when everyone's out and you get squished up against hot and sweaty tourists. I don't mind the tube though. The trains seem quite nice and warm when it's so cold outside.
