Advice/confirmation please...

Likely to travel from London to Manchester in the next couple of weeks, and looking to confirm the most cost-effective ticketing option for travelling with PRIV on Virgin Trains. Taking note of this post, am I correct in thinking that the best combination to buy is still:

£4.65 Euston to Milton Keynes (VT only)
£20.25 East Midlands Rover 3 days in 7
£2.50 Stoke to Manchester (VT only)

With the best option for return travel (not day return) being the above, plus Manchester to Stoke and Milton Keynes to Euston singles.

Other than the time restriction on the Rover, it appears the only routing restriction to note is that this combination is only valid on trains running via Stoke (not via Crewe).

All correct?

Seeing that you cannot get from Stoke to Crewe on Virgin anyway, that is all correct.

Euston to Bletchley is also £4.65, but more importantly routed "Any Permitted", in case a problem stops Virgin running south of Milton Keynes just as you set foot on Euston station (it might take some time for authority to use another operator to come through). Though this might cause some issues with the less well trained staff members who are about (lack of knowledge of Condition 19c).

There is also the option to do Stoke to Brinnington which has an SOR of £4.40 for Priv, Rte Any Permitted, thus saving a few more pennies if doing an Open Return journey.

Or for pure devilment buy it from Wedgwood or Barlaston, it is the same price.
