May I refer you to the preamble which says that the North Union Railway was followed by the LYR Manchester to Preston Line, which bifurcates at Euxton Junction. Euxton (L&NW) is on the continuation of the North Union Railway AFTER that junction

The next closed station, being on the LYR Manchester to Preston Line is that of....

Euxton (LYR).....which was closed in 1917

You're quite correct - my bad! For several years it was in limbo following a fire, with no trains calling but still "open." I'd forgotten it was finally officially closed a few years back.

Was it really 16 years since Pendleton closed? I remember when virtually every train to Man Vic called there, even off the Bolton line via Brindle Heath Jn!
