I have a cross-country journey to make tomorrow. I found great value on the ticket but the route is "impossible".
Here it is:
Leave Chester at 16:35.
Arrive London Euston at 18:39
Depart London Euston at 18:39
Arrive Kings Cross at 19:14
Leave Kings Cross at 19:14
Arrive Cambridge Station at 20:05
Leave Cambridge Station at 20:44
Arrive Newmarket at 21:03.
Now, I'm a relatively young man, and not completely unfit, but even I suspect getting from a mainline platform to a tube line (and vice versa) in precisely zero seconds might be pushing it a bit (especially for someone who hasn't been in a London station of any description for going on 15 years).
This ticket is being sold on Abellio Greater Anglia in good faith. However, it says the ticket is for the specific trains only. What is your advice on purchasing it? It is significantly cheaper than other options, but would I have a strong enough case when questioned by a ticket official if I said "yes, I'm aware this is not the correct train, but I simply couldn't make it from platform X to tubeline Y in zero seconds"?
