This isn't a problem on the 379s! Or any other fully aircon stock without open-able windows

no idea if the 379s have dodgy seals.

except the cab windows!;) And no, its mainly the older stock with the raised seals.

319373 went up to Wolverton on Saturday, effectively replacing 319010. Is this unit in for a C6 too or something else? Or is 319001 which is also up there?

No worries.

There are currently three 319 at Wolverton.

319440 is having repair work arriving on the 2nd.

319001/373 are having C6 work done. 373 went on Monday and 001 has also been there since the 2nd.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to paint a few 313s white in the near future? These units are looking well past their best externally with graffiti damage taking its toll and discoloured front ends. The interiors are a real contrast, however: absolutely spotless in most cases and they even have a clean smell to them.

Funnily enough a certain person I know suggested to FCC to repaint the front ends - as they are very faded / grubby - (missed out on the various revinyling etc) - easy job said Hornsey staff , - couple of hours work on an exam. Others agreed - but not done due to other pressures. The passenger will always seemingly look at the front end as a train rolls in (or the back end at say Moorgate) - the 319's have very good and presentable "yellow" cabs. Still the new owners cold do it as a quick fix.

Bummer, my chance to get 319.010 this evening failed due to an unplanned crisis at home.

Can I be a bit cheeky and ask any overnight staff to post tomorrow's (Saturday) diagram please if its coming out to play?

There will no more crisis(s) tomorrow!

Any help greatly appreciated!

Caught 319010 this evening. (Thanks for the gen.) There were no noticeable interior changes. The gangways smelled strongly of paint, the seat covers appeared brighter than normal but that was about it. Still had the generally awful 319/0 interior with lashings of yellow paint, knackered seat cushions and brown (but clean) flooring.

I'm looking forward to seeing it tomorrow hopefully. Guess it had a deep clean then...

Are ordinary members such as I allowed to post pictures? If so, I will post a pic

Yep, just press the paperclip next to the smiley face on the top of the new post box and it will give you a form to upload images to.

Click the dropdown arrow next to it and choose the attachment to embed it into the post like so:Screen Shot 2014-06-20 at 23.46.37.png

(You can then click the image to see it full size)

I've had a look myself to see if it's about, sadly I think it's on depot all day tomorrow and won't be in service.

They go through the washer at Ilford normally when they go there for maintenance, but apparently, its designed to remove surface dust and leave a "film" on the paintwork to help reduce the ability for grime to stick, but I guess only properly works if they go through it at least once a day every day, but with 379's working so hard its hard for that to happen. I've also heard reliably that a new batch of buttons has arrived and are going to be fitted shortly.

I know this isn't the right thread to keep mentioning the 379 buttons, but the main one is closed.

Here's a video I did quickly last night on just one half of one carriage.

Not great is it?

(BTW the flush button was fine!)

It passed St Albans twice this afternoon, the second time just after 3.30pm, when I was able to photograph it from St Albans South signal box, where I was 'on duty' for one of our open afternoons.

So it seems. Arrived RT at St Albans at 1659 but then didn't work the 1717 onwards.

Was it working as a 4 car? Interesting to see what the vandalism actually is. I did notice lots of 319's with heavy graffiti on the exterior earlier. I presume its gone out of service for the day then?

While working at St Albans South today I also noticed a couple of heavily graffitied units, but missed 319 010 as I was packing up at the time.

Tagging or worse on a new reliveried train has to be a high priority for some.
