The Riviera Line: Exeter-Paignton Route Add-On

This is a good route and te only let down for me (the noise of the Class 143) has been rectified with the release by Armstrong Powerhouse of an updated Class 142 pack that adds AP's sounds to the Class 143.

It is free to anyone who has already bought the 142 and just needs installing to overwite the default 143 sounds.

No scenarios?

Morning folks,

Bought this last night, very impressed when doing a quick drive, however upon attempting a scenario this morning, I've discovered... well that in fact, I don't actually have any!

Surely this can't be right?

When launching the game, it does flash up in the bottom left-hand corner '.... scenario database v3.9' or something like that, but it does seem very strange that I have no other scenarios at all, apart from the quick-drive.

Any thoughts?

Edit: just found 6 under career mode - no standard scenarios by the looks of it. Panic over.


Back again...

Have just created a scenario on Exeter - Paignton which seemed to go fine, however I cannot actually play the scenario I've just created....

Every single time, it crashes during the loading screen and creates a dump file.

I've tried verifying the integrity of the game cache, and well as clearing the game cache, but i'm now out of options and to be honest a little bit fed up on the fact that it just does not want to work.

Still, at least I can enjoy the music before the loading screen crashes... :roll:

It could be your graphics card or software, try running the route with minimal graphics settings and if it works gradually increase them until it doesn't, then set at the previous level.

If it doesn't work on the lowest level make sure you have the latest software for the graphics card.

If it's still not working I don't know what is wrong (though I am far from an expert on computers).

I have a similar issue when creating routes and scenarios (and when using the 90+DVT on the GEML route) and unfortunately I haven't been able to cure it.

I believe TS posted something about this being a known problem with the Riviera line and that they were working to fix it.

Thanks - that could well solve the problem then. However, how long it takes for the fix to come out is anyone's guess if that was the case!

That sounds plausible - I just find it slightly odd that it works fine for other scenarios but not with my own created one. I mean, (approaching this also from a non-PC expert viewpoint) if it can play the route, it can play the route, regardless of the scenario creator! It copes fine with the route on legacy mode, but I'll have a play around with the graphics setting and report back!

I see a patch is being/ has been released this afternoon for the route. Whether it fixes the scenario issue i'm not sure - will report back.

Will therefore try it over the weekend with the graphics settings lowered.

Had another go the other day, and it now works! Obviously the update fixed the issue and the scenarios that I have created AFTER the update work fine.

I have actually published two scenarios for the Riviera Line on Steam Workshop for the first time. They're fully tested and under the same alias on there. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I'm obviously not very experienced in all this!
