What happened to 90 010, Did it have a heart attack ?

Not sure of the technical details, but something to do with the wheelsets. The hot axel box detector at Brentwood picked it up. Loco was detached from the set at Witham, 47818 moved the coaches to Norwich, and moved 90010 to Manningtree during the night. It then went under its own power on a wheel skate to Norwich. It's currently dumped around the back of NC waiting removal by road.

I'm wondering if it'll be tripped to Dereham on the MNR to be picked up as it's difficult to get a lorry to Crown Point.

Thanks for that Tottenham Flyer
Sounds like a seized motor or bearing problem, for it to go home by skateboard

Get your phots in of 153314. That's off to works within the next 3 weeks.

If vans do it for you, get silver 82107 in too (currently in the short set to keep the miles down) as that's off to Loughborough next.

90002 will be off to Crewe when 90010 gets back (few weeks away for that yet).

I was in Ipswich on Saturday and there were 9 diagrams running (not the usual 10, as trains were reversing at Stratford rather than Liverpool St due to engineering work).

All 4 white 90's were out (001, 005, 013, 014). The full white set with 90013 and 82152 was out, and a few mixed up sets as well.

Won't clog the thread up with loads of high res pics - but here are some links. Feel free to use them on the first post to illustrate if required.

90013 with full white set of mk3's

82152 (white DVT)

90001 'Crown Point' nameplate

90006 passes 82121

Tatty looking 12137 in 'one' livery

10229 buffet in new livery

12171 in new livery with no branding

12139 in white but with blue doors?

Anyone able to shed any light on the last two coaches, interested to know if the blue one in particular was some kind of experiment? I have kept up with this thread most of the way and don't remember seeing anything about it. Apologies if it's been covered.

Lost somewhere within Bank-Monument tube station,
Does anyone know how many MK3s have been repainted, as surely they must be getting near to half of the fleet being done by now?

Still hope they get the Chiltern plug doors treatment, it's only the tatty exterior that was letting them down in my (highly biased) opinion. They'll be good to go for another 15 years.

The one with no branding is probably one that has only just come back from works. Some appear to come back without the GA logo and have the vinyl applied at Crown Point, same thing happened with the 156s.

I think the white with blue doors might be an unbranded NXEA coach. The blue ones are technically unbranded ONE stock (you can still see the remains of the stripes on most of them), that one is probably one that got done up in proper NXEA livery (along with a DVT and some 90s) similar to NXEC but got de-branded.

156416 moved back to CP this afternoon, so that's all the 156's completed now (except the few modifications to the earlier ones).

http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O98675/2014/05/15/advanced

The modifications involve new seat backs without the mounting points for fold-down tables. NXEA removed the fold down tables because they never got cleaned and people kept breaking them, but the mounting points for the tables were left behind and looked very untidy. The original refurbs didn't replace the seat backs but the later ones did, so now the older ones are going back to get the new seat backs. :)

When ONE ended their "Insanity" timetable (170s PBO/LWT-IPS-LST, No EMUs to IPS off-peak etc.) they broke up one of their LHCS sets to make some of the others longer as diagramming requirements had changed. They had 4 coaches left over as spare (including 12139) and sent them to Long Marston. 12139 was later bought back but the ONE paint had corroded so it was painted into NXEA livery. NXEA had worked out it was much cheaper to not bother with the Silver vinyls by this point and so it was painted into plain white. It is also the only in-use GA Mark 3 to retain the old green VT carpets on the walls and not have the new brown NXEA ones as it was in LM when the refurbishment to the rest of the fleet was carried out.

12171 will get it's AGA titles in time, they are probably just short of the vinyls currently :P Thanks very much for the pictures, I will update the list accordingly :)

I tried to keep up with the carriage repaints for a while but so many have been done now I got lost, so I gave up :P

EDIT: List fully updated! :D

Many thanks for that, interesting about 12139. I had thought it could be ex National Express but the lack of silver confused me. What was the fate of the other three spares, did they ever make it back?

I know they also have 15 DVT's (and locos), but as there are only 11(?) sets, presumably 4 sit spare for quite a lot of the time?

There was a short (8 car) set running on Saturday, as they announce the number of carriages at Ipswich over the PA. The rest were 9 I think. Didn't see 82107 though, I was hoping it'd be out.

From what I saw, I'd say even less than a quarter have been done. There was the full set, then the odd pair mixed into other sets, but no more than around 3 pairs I'd say. That's 15 coaches from around 80 that were out.

I travelled on a LHCS set that had no buffet car today (1400 NRW-LST). In its place there was a TSO (labelled up as a second coach E) and a trolley service. As they should have fourteen buffet vehicles for eleven sets I guess this was a hurried substitution with whatever was available.

In the adjacent platform at Norwich was one of the fully AGA liveried sets which was being advertised on the screens as eight coaches. I didn't get a chance to check what it was missing.
