Pensioner escapes with minor injuries on a rail crossing in the Czech Republic

CCTV footage has captured the moment a man in Czech Republic was hit by a speeding train - but walked away with only minor injuries.

The 77-year-old pensioner was filmed walking through a level crossing in the Rajec-Jastrabi village, then waiting for a few moments before deciding to cross the tracks.

Seconds later he was hit by the train and fell the ground, sending his shoe flying off.

Police said the man suffered minor injuries and will face a fine of 2500 Czech Crowns (£75) over the incident.
Nice to see he gets fined as well..

I think it is fair to say there was no "nearly" about it - he WAS hit by the train! Damned lucky he was too

Notice how none of the cars stopped to help him as he hobbled off the crossing!

I've no problem with the motorists not helping him. They should not stop on a crossing anyhow, and, he sped up to try and cross, so he knew what he was doing.

Natural selection.

A lot of people were having a go at the motorists for not stopping, but it appears they do actually check as they appear to be going slow and then speed it up once they've passed him.

Maybe if his busby hadn't fallen over his eyes he might have been able to see the train coming. :D
