My friend texted me that his EMT train stopped at Luton and he was bussed to Stp Pancras, apparently a PHBT further south.
He said that St Pancras was chaotic with passengers queing right back to the Sir John Betjeman pub.

Can anyone add anything?

Without knowing where the rolling stock was pre incident, I would guess that trains were being cancelled at Luton and sent back north in an attempt to get staff and trains in the right places, FCC should be capable of getting passengers from Luton to St Pancras and vice versa

The incident was at" Flitwick". Although I was actually working across the road from Flitwick Stn was not aware of anything so it may have been in the Flitwick "area"

Seems like a nightmare yesterday with PHBT at Flitwick, Eurostar problems, a person sitting on a bridge near Wigston and threatening to jump plus another PHBT at Hinckley and barrier probs at Narborough. Happy Easter.

The one I feel for is the threating to jump chappie, with the kids being off school he would have to wait for them to stop running across the tracks at Wigston before he could rely on a train actually moving at more than 25mph, c'est la vie

It was fun at Brighton. I was supposed to pass on the 17.37 FCC to the Heath to work a train the Littlehampton. It was marked as 17.42 dept, then suddenly became 18.10 fast to Blackfriers. We arranged for the 17.49 Victoria express to do a special stop for me at the Heath. It was then decided if it was stopping for me, might as well stop for passengers. It left packed out, and a lot of passengers did get off at the heath. As I pointed ut to the station staff there, I wonder if any of these realise its only stopping here just for me and allowing them to get out was just a flipside.

Brighton did ask for Gatwick as well, but it was declined.
