Well I didn't see that coming

Peaches Geldof, second daughter of musician Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, has died aged 25, leaving a husband and two sons.

"We are beyond pain," said her father, confirming her death. "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us."

Police, who were called to an address in Kent around lunchtime on Monday, say the death is currently being treated as "unexplained and sudden".

Thoughts go to family and friends, such a young age to pass away :(

Not exactly someone without controversy, but anyone to pass at this age is a tragedy.

Feel sorry for the family she's left behind, including two young children. Very sad.

When I chatted with her at a party once she seemed like a lovely person, irrespective of how she was portrayed sometimes. Very tragic, regardless of who it is, that a 25 year old woman has passed and left two children.

One of my daughters who knew her and her husband reasonably well has been really rocked by this.
She was only talking to both of them last week at their agents office and can't believe it.

Very sad for the children.

A sad loss, and her family must be devastated. It seems to have come completely out of the blue.

Whilst it is always sad to see someone pass away prematurely I fail to see why this event was considered worthy of "front page news"

This eclipsed the news of Mickey Rooney departing who arguably led a more eventful life.

Perhaps it's an age thing

I've resisted posting because I originally really disliked her, thinking she was incredibly stuck up and claimed to be a DJ one minute, journalist the next.. and when I was going to loads of big events one summer (Samsung, Virgin Media, Sony etc - all the same week) she was at all of them.

But, now I can see that she did settle down and seemed like a pretty grounded and sensible young lady that had just gone off the rails, no doubt under pressure from both the media and all of these businesses that 'paid' her to attend (not literally, but by showering her with goodie bags and other gifts).

She was in the London free papers (London Lite and the other one) almost every day, but now I see her more as a victim - and feel bad about my original judgement of her.
