Damn, and there's me with the cheque in my wallet without sending it off...

Never mind, I was doubting my ability to get there anyway

Standing? From Birmingham to Glasgow and back?! No chance, not for 87s. For Valentas or 37s, then we're talking...

They can't move you or stop you getting the front window unless you let them bully you (wonders where he's seen that before )

What p1sses me off is people who think that the window belongs to them and hog it all day, denying any of the other 500 on board the opportunity. You seem to whing about people who "think they own the place" (to quote your earlier comment), yet then act as if you do so yourself. Double standards?

No i don't, if people want a look i let them, and then normaly get it back, although if i stand there from the start of the trip to make sure i have the window for the good parts of the tour, then i think i should be aloud to stand there, instead of me standing there then the bashers come along and try to make me shift. That i don't like

I'd second that, one of the problems of using coffins on tours. Seems to be the same people who like to shout/scream/flail at far OTT levels aswell. IMO it won't be a problem on the 87 tour, at least with the small band of 87 regulars - the follwing quote was used during G21/B05 "New faces clingon in the vestibule whilst the regulars chill in the saloon!" and was spot on!

It's not just confined to coffins, there seem to be plenty of people who aren't content with being in a front coach with opening quarterlights. Your second quote is spot on, I remember when we had 37s on my local line for a year - for many months there were a small band of regulars (some who did it most nights, others who turned up a few occasions each month), and if you wanted a vestibule window for a short while you could virtually get one. The last few days were a totally different story though.

Just to stay on topic, I hope the 87 farewell isn't marred by the behaviour of a minority of idiots.
