38TS Railtours

Another batch of railtours are on their way on LU with the Museum 38TS which operated on the Northern a while back - organised by the current LU Apprentices and various other members of LU staff there will be three railtours on Sunday 16th September 2007.

Full details of routes and timings are in the process of being finalised, but the current proposal is for the first of the three trains to do Ealing Common - Rayners Lane - Harrow-on-the-Hill - Finchley Road - Charing Cross (disused) - Stanmore; the second to do Canons Park - Finchley Road - Charing Cross (disused) - Finchley Road - Stanmore - Wembley Park; and the third to do Neasden - Finchley Road - Charing Cross (disused) - Finchley Road - Harrow-on-the-Hill - Rayners Lane - Ealing Common.

how exactly do you get a place on one of these tours im really keen to get on one, I contacted the transport museum the other day and they informed me that no further dates had been confirmed yet though the tours would operate in the future.

Got the latest London Transport Museum Friends letter though the post the other day.

Apparently there is a plan to run the 38TS on the East London Line before it closes permanently in December to be converted into an NR Line.
No details yet it seems though.

The 38 Stock railtour has now been confirmed. it will run on Sunday 16th December.

Route is from Ealing Broadway along the District and East London Lines.

Train departs from Ealing Broadway at 1020 and returns around 1530-1600.

Tickets are £15 each.

When I booked mine at around 10am yesterday they said there were only 45 left, so anyone wanting to go should get booking. :)
